Echo

I've seen a few posts about an echo in the earpiece of this phone. I'd like to get the phone, but this would be a deal breaker for me. Has anyone experienced this? Has anyone experienced it and solved the problem? Thanks in advance.

Speakerphone?

Both the specs on this site and the ones on the verizon website says this phone has speakerphone, but I can't find the setting in the phone and the manual doesn't even mention speakerphone. Does this phone actually have it?

Playing music

I'm going to use my phone as a music player. Do I have to buy the music kit from Verizon? I know it has the software and a cable, but can I get those elsewhere for less than $30? I don't need or want the headphones that are part of the kit.

Thanks.

Just upgraded two weeks ago.

So I just got the phone about 3 weeks ago.

I really really do like the phone itself and the features.

The ONE thing (well there are a total of 3 things)... anyway, ONE OF THREE things that bug the hell out of me is the battery life.

Anyone else have major battery life issues?

I leave the phone charging all night and go about the next day with normal use on the phone.

About 5 PM rolls around and I have one bar left.
The phone can't even make it through an entire day without being recharged for a bit sometime during the day.

The other two things are lack of OBEX and while on the internet, it can't stream videos.
For example, YouTube.com, when I try to watch a video, the browser says "Error, Malformed URL".
What is tha...

VM speed dial edit

I'd like to edit my speed dial entry for VM on the 8600 like I did previously with the 7000. Is this possible with the 8600 and I'm just being a bonehead about figuring it out?

8600 vs 8700

Im thinkin about gettin one of these phones i've played around with both of em in stores so i was wondering if anybody has either of em which one is the better phone? Im a few months away from my NE2, but I was considering getting one of these phones at full retail price or off ebay if i can find deal for either phone, and just saving my NE2 if i wanted something newer that comes out after i get either phone.. as of now im leaning more towards getting the 8600 because its cheaper, and you can view text messages on the outside screen (i have the 8100 and it has that feature )

whats the better phone?

and also on the 8600 and 8700 is there another media player on these phones like the 8100 has the vcast media player and a regular media pl...

Can I make the Inbox delete TXT's automatically? (VX8600/8500)

My Inbox will only hold like 60-70 messages before it gets 100% full and I can't recieve anymore. Now my Sent-box will hold about the same, but it will automatically delete the oldest Sent message to make room for the newest.

Is there a way to make the Inbox do the same?

Thanks!

LG AX8600 (Alltel) Reception

I just got this phone last Friday. I'd like to ask any and all 8600 users with Alltel how your reception is. I'd also like to know if you are in a rural or urban area.

Alltel is the best carrier in my local area as far as reception goes, but I had a dropped call right off the bat with this phone. I was calling from a rural area to a more populated area (in my local coverage area).

I'm giving myself until Thursday or Friday to decide whether to return or not.

If the reception and call quality can't pass the test, nothing else matters to me. It is a phone first and foremost (for me).

Anything you can tell me yourself or what you have heard about reception and dropped calls are very welcome.

Thanks.

AX8600 Bluetooth

Alltel doesn't include the A2DP and AVRCP bluetooth profiles with the AX8600. I emailed them and asked if they could be added and was told it's not possible. LG says that, as I already knew from their website, the phone is capable of using both profiles but it's up to the carrier to implement them. Is there any good reason why they don't make them available and is there a way I can add them myself? Is there availability related to Alltel's Axcess services somehow? Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Different Key Pads on the 8600's ?? Why

So check this out -

We got one 8600 from Best buy and the keypad on the one from VZW today is very different..

The keypad on the best buy one has raised horizontal silver seperators and the key feel is totally different. The VZW unit is much softer and frankly a bit easier to use.

Do we know why they made this change ?

Anyone notice this ?

Delete "Verizon Wireless" banner

Anyone know how to delete the Verizon Wireless banner on the inside and outside of the phone?

I used to have the LG 6100, and read a good hack on these boards about how to get rid of the banner, and it worked perfectly.

Just needed Bitpim, and used it to tweak one of the phone's system files.

Any insights?

Which phone has better reception? Better sound quality. I have the AX8600 and have been told by several people that the Motorola should have better reception where I am located...
