Blocking Data... when i feel like it?

I've been seeing people have called and had the data on their Q blocked by Verizon. A while back I called and asked them could they do this, and they apparently blatantly lied to me and told me no.

But now that I know that they can, I'm curious as to if their is a program or a setting that would allow me to block the data when I feel like it? This way I could turn it on only to check emails. Any help would be appreciated.

Goodbye Q! It was nice when you worked.

After my fourth replacement phone I had enough. Verizon your service is great and thank you for allowing me to replace my Q with a BB 8703e. The BB just works and the Q just you took to much of my time. I'll miss some of the nice features Windows Mobile has but the lockups, rebooting, hard reset hell just made me too angry. The BB isn't as high tech, but it never acts up.

Yahoo! Go

hey, guys, check the Yahoo Go, it is awesome, push email
sync photos, appointments (calender), tasks, and address book, and a lot more.

got my Q yesterday went to
http://sites.mobile.yahoo.com/go/windows »

and got the Yahoo GO, very easy and straight forward process in synchronizing it to the Q, took couple of min after that to sync with yahoo mail and the address book, so be careful when syncing it with professional or work contacts, beside it gives you the option to choose what to sync.

I think it is an alternative for the Gmail push mail, that is someone could not get it to work with his / her Q.

haven't played with every thing that comes with Yahoo! driving direction, sports messenger, movies or Tasks, but I am planning to ...

is Voice/Data plan required for PDAs/Smartphones? (VZW)

I went to my local Verizon store and told the sales rep I was looking at some PDAs to replace my chocolate (specifically the Q).

Anyway, he asked what I was going to use it for, and I told him mainly for normal use, txt messaging, and keeping up with appointments.

He than said "Well if you get a PDA/Smartphone, you HAVE to have a voice/data plan."

Is this true?

Q in Socal

I have had my Q for two weeks now and I live in the greater LA/OC area. I have found using "myabc7.com" as a go to site for many on the go uses, the traffic page is great and allows me to view certain freeways and their speeds, all in one hand, thats real handy, google maps does the same but in a map format. Anybody else have a 'go to' site they like also.

Etiquite - for you new to forums...

...and for those of you who have developed bad habits:

If you post a question on any message board and someone responds, it is polite to post a thank you message at minimum, and even better a plain followup message that confirms the successful implementation of the new knowlege you got for free.

Its also bad form to post messages basically selling a product. If you are pushing something, save up some dough and get a website, or sell it on ebay or something.

And for those folks who have expertise in the field, please read and respond to the messages posted from those who have legitmate questions. I have noticed a sharp falloff in the past month or so in the number of users responding. There are a lot of posts goig unanswerd.

Q as a medical PDA?

Hello. I am a medical school student and I am looking for a cell phone/pda combo. My cell phone carrier is Sprint. I like the Q a lot because its slim and has an internal antenna. I was wondering if the Q can be used like a PDA (with a stylus) and if I would be able to upload applications needed in the medical field? Thanks for your input. 🙂

Edit Office files

so if the Q doesn't let you edit office files, which file actually let you do so, without purchasing extra application or software?
