The device is covered by motorola warranty for 1 year against defects. as long as your phone was bought new it shouldnt matter if its a gift. you dont need insurance unless the phone is damaged or lost. I highly recommend insurance but I understand your situation.

Take the phone to a Corporate Verizon-owned retail store. Use the store locator at www.verizonwireless.com if you need to find one. The technician should swap any warranted product for you if its in stock. Here's the link for the update....just make sure you back-up everything on your phone before you do the update. You will lose everything including contacts and any third party software. www.motorola.com/support/q I have had many Motorola phones over the years and one thing I've noticed with them is that theres alw...

Hey, can you confirm which version of the software update you installed? I have the black q and have had it power off a couple of times and want to make sure I don't spend time installing a software I already have. Thanks.
