i just purchased the xv-6700 2 days agobut then the q just came out. i called vzw and they told me that i can exchange within 15 days of the original purchase. I am attracted to the Q by its looks but some say that the features are short of other pda's.

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME KNOWLEDGEABLE INSIGHT INTO WHICH PHONE IS a BETTER choice!!

I talked with a couple of people at the Verizon stores, and most say that it is a matter of what you are wanting to do with the phone. For those who were willing to choose one over the other, they suggested the XV6700. One of the main reasons being that you lose a lot of functions with the Q, which will end up disappointing int the end. The biggest difference for now, is that the XV-6700 has WIFI out the box. Given that I don't want to pay $40 a month for unlimited data, WIFI is what I need....and that is exactly why I went ahead and purchased on XV-6700 last Sunday. Another thing I noticed with my hands on time with the Q, is that it just feels awkward in my hand, the keypad can not even begin to compare with that on the XV. After sem...

I had the 6700 and it was almost perfect; but the constant freezing and daily soft resets were bothersome. The keypad, internet, camera, video, mp3, mp3 ringtones, etc.... are all nice; but if the phone freezes and you have to remove the battery day @ night, then what's the point. That, and the Q give me full bluetooth capability, whereas the VX6700 doesn't. I shouldn't have left the Q, and I'm glad to have it again.

I have had both the 6700 and the Q. The only thing I miss with the 6700 is that awesome keypad. I don't miss the bulk, weight, freezing, general slowness when starting apps, touch screen, weak signal, limited bluetooth capability. Now that the Q has most of the software bugs worked out, I would recommend to friends and family.

Q definitely rules, and you are missing the WIFI, you can get a mini-SD wifi adapter for the Q and it rocks socks!

For Wizzard: what brand mini-SD wifi card did you get that works? Where did you get it? Also, was it simple plug and play? And when you're using it, how do you get the Q to override the EVDO and force use of the wifi card?

I was under the impression that the Q did not have the power necessary to run the mini SD wifi chip that was available from spectec. Is there another that will work?

I'm not sure why you got that impression. I reaize that the defaut software and registry might need some work, but thats as close as a google search away. I havent got the card myself yet, but I plan on it in february.Ive seen it pictured online sitting in a silver Q, which might mean exactly nothing, but Ill post on it as soon as I have more info. thanks!

Note that the spectec wifi mini sd card, has been tried by others and reported on line not to work. I also called Motorola and they were the ones who provided the reason - a power requirments issue. I, and I'm sure many others would sure like to know if you are able to get it to work. As far as I can see the concious ommission of wifi is the only real significant deficiency the defice has. Please Keep us informed on your progress. Thanks!

Hello Wizzard,

Have you had any luck with using the spectec or other mini sd wifi card to receive wifi with the Q? I am anxiously awaiting your opinion as to whether wifi is possible on the Q. As far as I can see, wifi is the only missing feature on the phone. Regards
