Question for owners

Can you view HTML web pages on the 6682, or is it WAP only? If it can view HTML pages, how fast is the surfing?

Thanks to any responses in advance.

Anyone here switched from Verizon

Im' sick of Verizon's crappy phone selection so I'm thinking of taking the jump.
I'm in the NJ/NYC area and was wondering if nayone has had a successful changed of service.

I'm very interested in this Nokia phone.
I want DUN from my Apple and the ability to transfer files to-from my Mac desktop via bluetooth as well (two of the features that Verizon disabled!!!)

Also, how is the speakerphone on the 6682?

Thanks for the info

Extra Memory

Since phone scoop forums have proven to be the most reliable source of information (Cingular techs really should read the threads more often)...I have a question for the savy 6682 user. What sort of memory upgrade would you suggest? Is there 1 gig rs-mmc...and if so has any one had any experinces with it? I'd much rather have very little memory sans meltdowns, than more memory and an unstable phone.
Thanks.

Browser

How is the pre installed Opera browser on the 6682 is it comparable to the Blazer browser on the Treo 650? Better? Worse?

I just fell in love.... all over again,

So, call me naive or uninformed, but I just found out you can listen to all your mp3's, video, Mobiradio etc. through any Bluetooth headset. I'm so stoked!!!I tried it with all my headsets, and actually got over 90 feet away w/ a clear line of sight to my phone without losing any quality. KICK ASS!!! 😁

Will not ring when key pad locked

I hope that I'm missing something simple here but...

My phone wont ring when the key pad is locked. I've looked but I can't find any setting that would cause the phone to be silent when the keypad is locked. Am I missing something there or is this a problem? Thanks.

Answertones...why?...WHY NOT?!

www.cingularanswertones.com

Try it, love it or hate it, they're fun regardless. I like choosing what songs/quotes my friends and coworkers can listen to when they call me. There's also the day/night option which is cool. It gives people a good idea of what your personal opinion is of them. I was suprised with a few of the more eclectic selections available.

Push to Talk

If I purchase this phone through LetsTalk.com, does the Push To Talk feature work? Has anyone tried it on this phone?

I remember reading previously that Cingular had this feature blocked, but now that the Push to Talk feature has been implemented by Cingular, I wasn't sure if it would work or not.

Thanks guys.......... 😈

charger used and battery time

I noticed that when I used an older & slower charger than what came with the 6682, the charge seemed to last longer. Is there anything to this?

Thanks.

caller id, glitch?

I'm wondering if any other Nokia 6682 users have issues with the caller ID function of the phone.

When I receive an incoming call from a number that is listed in my contact directory along with another number (home and work, let's say) it does not cause the phone to display the identity of the caller, or activate a designated ringtone ascribed to that caller. I have tried entering seperate listings ("mom", and "mom1"), and I have altered the default settings to no avail. I know the phone recognises these numbers as it always identifies the person via their number when I'm making outbound calls. Can anyone tell me how to remedy the situation? Nobody at Cingular seems to have an answer.

p.s.-This is my second 6682, and it is free o...

Downloading Music

What are some good sites to get musice from? And this is the first time I have ever done this. I read the little bit of instructions that came with the phone, but does anyone have any tricks or tips?

How good is the camera?

I just switched to Verizon from Sprint last week. I bought 2 VX-8100 phones, which are pretty good. I like the cameras on them, they take decent pics, but I have come to realize that I can hardly browse the Verizon web because it is very restricted. I don't like this fact at all. So, I am looking into going with Cingular and maybe getting the Nokia 6682, since it has a good screen and a 1.3 mp camera, and I have had nokias in the past and I know that they are good phones. But I just wanted to know what you people think of the quality of the pictures that this phone takes. And is it easy to do normal phone tasks like speed dialing and text messaging? Does it have good stereo sound from the speakers? Thanks for any help.

Interesting

This is a post that I just read on the review section... It seems that he just purchased a 6682 from Letstalk.com......

Glad I Got Rid Of It!!

by scorpgc Jan 10, 2006

I am rating this .05 in hopes that Singular and Nokia would somehow see the seriousness of releasing a product, sub-par.

While it is evident that some buyers have had absolutely no problems, a lot have! This is not the only user-review forum which reports such negative feedback: Lost Call Logs, Powering Off, Virus-Bugs in the OS (packet data transmitted ALL DAY!), Loss of all set up features when phone powers off, Freezing up, "Tiny Buttons"...

I bought the phone through Letstalk.com the day after it released-like hundreds here, patiently waited and paid cl...

Cingular Warranty exchange

I got in touch with the Cingular Warranty exchange folks on Tue., Jan. 3, through the phone number graciously provided in a previous thread. The Cingular rep was very helpful (they are apparently located in South Dakota) and was aware of the issues with the 6682. Being only about 2 hrs. away from Ft. Worth, TX (where the warranty exchange phones are shipped out from), I elected to do the free ground service. Once the replacement phone is received, you have 14 days to return your original phone or be charged for the original full price paid (in my case, that's $210). I was told that in all likelihood that the phone would be a refurb, but could return it if it "did not meet my expectations." So I asked if that includes cosmetic problems, or ge...
