Nokia 6682 / 6681
Warranty exchange backorder!
ok just verified with warranty exchange (2 different supervisors) that the 6682 is on backorder for 5-6 days..dont know whats going on but i better get the new firmware when i get my phone or ill be friggin pissed!!

I setup a warranty exchange last monday(1/2) and received it Thursday but it had the old firmware. 😢 I called and reported the phone DOA and she placed another order but it was on backorder. Oh Well.... Hopefully they will get new handsets in with the new firmware. Positive Thinking. 😛

exactly what happened to me...i got one through warranty exchange and got it in 2 days..when i got it the phone had the old firmware. i called them back and they said they would send another one out. But i found out its on backorder..they said for about 5-6 days

I called Cingular, they promised me the new firmware and when I finally received it, It was the the exact same version that I already had. I called them back, and they said that it was on backorder and that when they get in, there is still NO promise that I'll get the right firmware because the phones aren't checked before being sent out! Good luck everyong! WE'RE GONNA NEED IT! THANK YOU CINGULAR!

ok just got a tracking # for my 2nd warranty exchange phone...i will get it tomorrow and it better be the new firmware..ill keep u guys up to date once i get it

I got MINE yesterday....... 😲
After calling & complaining that my 1st warranty exchange was replaced by one with the same firmware, and them telling me they don't have a way to tell whether or not the new firmware is on one, I asked if I could go into a store and swap it??? They stated they' couldn't authorize that, but would come up with a solution.............
The very next morning, YESTERDAY, UPS dropped of a package.................with a BRAND NEW phone in it......... 😁

I'm still evaluating it, it seems to respond a little quicker, when moving from screen to screen, so far NO erased call logs or copy contacts to sim.......
Get ahold of a manager, let them know you don't want to have to play musical phones.... you might get LUCKY 😎

When you received the phone was it stripped like other warranty exchanges or did they send you a boxed phone with everything?

what i thought....now i have to get them to pull me a new one off the shelf...so to speak...so i don't keep getting the refurbs with the old firmware. 🙄 I'm not picky and wouldn't mind a refurb but doesn't seem like they are gonna flash the phones....since they never seem to be aware of the issue...unless you speak to a manager. 😛

Complain to a manager that you've been playing the "musical phone" game, are tired, and if they don't have a way to tell the new firmware phones from the old ones, then they need to come up with a different plan, you don't want to keep wasting time with a revolving cellphone door to get what you should have gotten the FIRST TIME!!!!!!!! Speak to a manager and be persistent and FIRM........
Also ask them to make you elegible for a phone swap, at a store, .......of course they'll refuse, but........ it can open a door....

ok got my phone today and guess what? same old firmware..oh well..i give up ill just stick with my old phone and deal with it..this is getting to be a pain.

ok so i decided to call cingular back just for kicks and see what they had to say this time...well the service lady of course had no clue of the problem and she actually contacted nokia and got a tech for me..i spoke with a tech and she said i can either send it in to nokia or a local mokia certified repair center. well i lucked out and there ones a repair center near my house..i will take it in tomorrow and get u guys an update.

ok i went to a nokia authorized repair place and they said they cant fix it because the phone is too new and they dont have the new firmware to flash the phone with. so now my only option is send it to nokia which im not gonna do because it will take too long and i need my phone or go through lockline and pay $50 and hopefully get a NEW phone

No Iunlock.com does flashing and unlocking and has most to all updated firmware for a huge variety of phones. I'll send mine out to get mine (6682) flashed and unbranded so all the Cingular crap would be off me phone! I got my Nokia 6620 flashed and unbranded through the actuall nokia warrenty repair hotline 1-888-nokia-2U. it took me around $18 to ship because I put $400 of insurence and certified mail on it. Its the actual nokia repair not a authorized repair. They flashed my 6620 generic and I think put European Languages on there. I'm using a o2 UK sim in the 6620 now. 😁 😉
