Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

i have a earpiece and i cant seem to figure how to get it to ring in my ear.. the phone rings like normal then it answers on my earpeice when it answers i can talk.. is it the earpiece or some setting on the phone? i wear the earpeice when im on the motorcycle and i would like to know when it is ringing.. any help to get this to work would be grealty appriciated!

I've heard that vibration is actually emitted from the battery. Would buying another battery improve the weak vibrate mode? Like if the v710 has a stronger vibrate, perhaps I can get a v710 battery and pop it into the E815???

Always wanting to get the latest and greatest, I got the Razr shortly after it came out, and the Moto V325. Both are great phones. Both are a nice size, and very cool. The E815 is bigger than I'd like, and "not cool", but, for call clarity, volume, and reception, I have found none to beat the E815. Having dependable excellent sound quality, getting good reception anywhere, and good battery life trump the obvious strong points of the Razr and V325.
The Razr's size is great, and it's reception and sound quality better than most of the Verizon line-up. But, battery life isn't good, and it's way too easy to press the wrong keys.
I would take the V325 over the Razr any day.

I was hoping the V325 would be a good compromise between the Razr ...

when viewing a contact with multi number home work cell etc. it seems to me that I use to be able to scroll 360 now since the phone was updated it requires that you go to the end then scroll the other direction is this normal? thanks

I need to know if anyone on here knows of any bluetooth headsets that are hearing aid compatible???

Sup everybody, my e815 is hacked so that the evdo is turned off. If I get the new firmware installed, what well happen with the evdo? Will it be turned back on? And will VZN know i hacked my phone? And I have one more questions...does anyone know if they new firmware really does fix the weak vibrate issue? I've heard that it does. New to the bluetooth world, I purchased a h500 headset as recommended on this website. Does the headset always have to blink while it is on or is there a way to set it so that it does not blink constantly?

I tried to save music clips from walmart to use as ring tones and it looks like the changed format, has anyone noticed this as well?

I have a 2005 Acura TL. With bluetooth I am suppose to be able to talk to people through my radio speakers. Does this phone work for this?

I am thinking of buying a data cable and disk. The main thing I would like to try is adding skins (which I need to research more 😛 ). I MAY try to do some hacks or edits as well....but I am a little leery of that. I have been looking mainly on eBay.

Anyway, what should I look for in the way of tools or software included? I know there are different versions and so on. I've heard that I should avoid cables that 'charge' as well because they can screw up my phone. So I want an OEM cable or similar....right? What do I really need? Also, is there a better place to look then eBay? Thanks. 😕

should i get this or the lg 9800?

i like that this is smaller but i like that the 9800 has a keyboard and the stereo speakers.

i also like that this has a different menu but i also like the verizon standard menu becasue i am used to it with my 8000. the mini sd vs the micro sd/transflash duzent bother me either way.

one question tho for clarification. what is the largest the mini sd can hold and what is the largest micro sd/transflash hold? 🙄

tell me why you like this vs the 9800 cuz all help would be appreciated.

I've just read the latest reviews, and one of them discusses problems with the phone's alarm feature:

Warning:

If you plan on using the alarm clock on the cell phone....do not get this phone.

Reason: Miss a call or miss a text message, the alarm will shut it's self off and not go off untill you clear the alert screen.
Example: Set alarm before bed for 8:00 am , friend sends a text message in the middle of the night...you wake up at 9:00 am late for work, wondering why the alarm does not go off, see that there is a text message, clear the text message, then the alarm goes off and the screen says 8:00 am alarm.

Is it true? If yes, I'm not getting this phone; I use my current one (LG VX7000 BL) as an alarm clo...

Can the E815 be "silented" on power up rather than hearing the tones after the hello-moto screen? Any other tricks/tips/mods to this phone would be appreciated

I've just got my e815 today (upgraded from v710) and I am attempting to turn on Dialup Networking. From what I've seen, you just type ##DIALUP on the phone and it should prompt you.

Well, apparently my phone has the new firmware installed and I cannot seem to turn it on. Anyone know a workaround for this?!

I was told that there is indeed a way to read text messages on the external screen once you receive them? I still haven't been able to figure out how to do it, if it's even possible that is. Any insight would be great

To the left of the little circle with the cross through it on my display is a square little box with the letter A. I don't know what it does, nor does the manual say anything about it. Help appreciated.

Got a replacement phone from Verizon, First phone up and died. Verizon was really cool about, went in and they replaced it without any trouble. I was not able to unpair the HS 820 from the phone. Now it will not recognize the headset. Any thoughts?
