Nokia 6255i / 6256i

Just wondering how the reception is on this phone when you only have 1 or two bars. I live in a rural area and my house is 10 miles from the nearest tower. So all I get is 1 to 2 bars.

I just stumbled onto this thread and realized thismay be what I'm looking for. Will the Nokia PC Suite allow me to synchronize my Palm contacts (possibly through some intermediary setp with Outlook), and will it store up to the 8MB limit? I need a good phone first, then the ability to download all my palm contacts.

I have one 6256i Verizon in Verizon box with charger for sale. We had 2 down to one now.

I will include a nice leather CCM case with it as well.

why would they put a 65,536 display in the phone. I hate that crap it will look like the 5200 screen, need higher resolution like the 8100/6100 at 262,144. 😢

Since this phone doesn't allow ringer ID for all individuals, how many groups are there? Can you create more? Thanks

Some of you may be interested in this information. I posed several questions to a Nokia rep that I know. This was their response:

1. Can you listen to the MP3's over a Bluetooth headset?

Answer: Yes!

2. What version of Bluetooth is supported? Version 2.0?

Answer: All of our bluetooth products support Bluetooth 1.2 and higher

3. What type of memory card can the phone accept again? I know it is "MMC", but, is it Reduced Size MMC "RS-MMC", Dual Voltage RS MMC or just plain old MMC?

Answer: The memory card for the 6255 MUST be a Multimedia Card (Nokia or Scan Disk is fine as long as it's NOT an SD card). All of our MMC cards are dual volt. We have a reduced size transflash memory card coming but probably another 3 months ou...

I think this phone is not going to be worth it.

I am wondering what kind of reception the 6255 gets in fringe areas. I currently have a Moto V810(w/ regional carrier Midwest Wireless) and am less than satisfied with its reception. I am trying to decide between the 6255 and the moto v710 (which despite some things, seems to get great reception) for my next phone. So what do people have to say about the 6255's reception?

Also I have heard that candy bar style phones actually get better reception than flip phones, is this true?

I guess this is good news for us VZW users who are waiting for the phone.

Anyone happen to know the size limit (if any) on the MMC for this phone?.. I'm looking to upgrade mine but want to make sure to get the correct one.

Also, has anyone tried watching a full length (1:20 mins) movie on the 6255i yet? My old phone was Nokia 6620 and it did pretty good ... just curious if this phone is just as good, even it doesn't run Symbian. ☹️ .

I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with their 6255i...I bought one last week and I noticed when talking on it like 10 - 15 minutes, the phone gets very warm...I was trying to figure out if anyone else has had this problem. Also, I was wanted some opinions on how everyone feels about the sturdiness (if that's a word) of this phone...The hinge on mine, cracks, pops, etc. when folding it back.

😁 Ok so here I am Just got this wonderful phone and I am trying to pair the phone with the bluetooth headset my mom had. It kept asking me about a password thingy. So after many a few mins trying to solve this I looked to the mannuel. (Good stuff in there by the way) It told me I had to find one since it was a headset I didn't know how I could make one for it. Call Nokia, Called and they were very helpful (I didn't know mokia has their own MMC and Bluetooth headsets) After level 1 couldn't help, transfer to level 2 He was great within mins I was using the head set just to let you knwo if you have a motorola headtset the general pasword thingy is 0000. I just wanted to share how great it was that these reps know what they are talking about....

Here's a couple odd quirks I found on my phone.

First of all, since you can't assign individual mp3 ringtones to each contact, I put my girlfriend in her own group and gave her a specific ringtone.

One day I wanted to see if the "No Caller ID ringtone" worked. (you know how you can assign a specific ringtone for all numbers that are blocked or the caller ID is not available).

Well I told my girlfriend to block her number and call me so I can hear the ringtone.
Well when she did, the screen came up "No Caller ID" but it was her assigned ringtone from the Group. Very odd. You can't fool my phone! It knows it's you when you call.


Another thing. When I put my phone on Silent or Meeting, all the calls I get from people in my G...
