Motorola V710

I did some quick browsing at bestbuy.com, looks like we'll be dropping about $50 on these cards (thats for 128MB). Anybody know if there are companies besides SanDisk that makes these (a reliable knock off of sorts, just not as expensive?). I think I underestimated the costs of these little guys.

On that same note- I know an mp3 will take up 3-4MB, how much will these 3 min video files take up? I think on a computer its about a MB for every minute of video (more or less)...but it won't be as large of a frame and I'm assuming lower quality (are they .mpeg/.wav/.avi files?). If anybody's got an educated guess on the file size of the video clips, thanks in advance!

Has Motorola "fixed" their phonebook interface?

I'm referring to the "one huge bag o' phone numbers" that I currently have in my V60, where I have 3 seperate name entries for Jack Smith (Home), Jack Smith (Work), and Jack Smith (Mobile).

Most other manufacturers have grouped the phone numbers by name (Jack Smith), with listings for Home, Work, Mobile, etc. under Jack Smith's name. This is a huge help when trying to find your way to a person's phone number.

Dateline my computer.

Anybody know what kind of case\holster comes with this phone? Any companies have alternatives out there yet?

Hey all, this is my first post and I need teh opinion of all you hardcore V710 followers.

I recently got a job where I have to leave any camera phones and recording devices in my car. I'm looking very much toward the V710 as something I would love, but only use it the 4 hrs when I'm out of work, and on weekends. To me, it seems rather harsh, as I have an obsession in keeping a cellphone close to me at all times. Secondly, I *love* verizon. Finally, I currently have the SPH-i700 which I think I must let go. Its just unreasonable to have a PDA phone when you can't bring it into work. 😛

thats motos cust service #. to save time, the prompts r #1 #1 #6. I called twice and for the umpteenth ****ing time they said may 21 and end of may (2 similar answers) so if u guys think this is all BS or made up or whatever, call Moto yourselves and they will confirm all this instead of posting negative nay-saying remarks.

Someone said there were two Samsung phones listed on Infomanager for release at the end of the month. Someone else said the v710 is not listed on Infomanager. So how reliable is Infomanager? Has every phone been listed on Infomanager prior to release or do some phones show up to the stores without prior listing on Infomanager?

I dont know all these ravings about secret ****ing deals etc, but I do know this: Moto emails everyone about a 5-21 release date. Last week they texted n emailed everyone about release soon, but the kicker is; if u call moto cust service they say that phone is ready to ship that phone is in warehouse ready to go SO thats where everyone on this thread got the warehouse scenario. Why is it that they can tell you when a DVD or a CD will be released, but they won't tell you jack sqwat about the release of a cell phone. That is such BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

to find out by looking at the specs of the phone the type and quality of the reception??? I mean can i tell by the specs if the reception quality is good or bad?

Verizon Wireless sucks! This is my only reason why I am not getting this phone. It's sad to see a bad ass phone go to such a crappy wireless provider. What a waste!

According to infomanager, the samsung a790 (world phone) will be released on May 24, 2004 through fulfillment only (only shipping).

the a650 will also be released on May 28, 2004.

These two phones are the only ones that have definite dates as of now...

Lets keep our fingers crossed because infomanager is the only thing that can really give us accurate insight as to when the phones will come out!

I have had the same question about bluetooth mouse/keyboard combos. If you look at the software package to sync the v710 to your PC there is an included USB-bluetooth adapter box. This tells me that the software is set up to use USB drivers to talk to the phone, and there just happens to be a bluetooth interface in between. (Sound right??)

In any case, what if I get this laptop I have been looking at with internal bluetooth built in? Will it work with the phone without that adapter? I know the hardware is capable, but is the software smart enough to know I want to talk through my internal bluetooth card instead of the USB port? I sure hope so, otherwise that would be a complete bummer. Anyone had experience in a situation like this one b...
