Audiovox CDM-9900

😲 ...i asked him when they were going to get a video phone...he said...not for a while...he said probably by the end of the summer or maybe even around christmas time...i doubt its coming out in April like everyone is saying...don't get your hopes up!

I hate forums do you know why...?
There are 3 people that visit and write in forums:
1.) People that are in the industry and know what is going on. These people have good information and know what the difference between their ____ and a hole in the ground is. These people need to stay in forums. They usually have good answers.

2.) Cellular users, These are the people that use phones and are just inquisitive about new phones. They don't have information so they look for it or even ask for it. These people are my favorite. They just want to know. They also need to stay in forums.

3.) Gossipers, people that heard something from their grandmas uncles brother and swear its gospel. These people need honestly not be allowed to use any techn...

Just talked to audiovox sales and they stated verizon is planning to release the 9900 towards the end of april/beginning of may.

Thought i would share the info with you all.

Both phones should be out for Verizon Wireless in the next month. Which one do you think is the better bet?

Talked to AUvOX rep that was at our call center. Phone should be available in couple months. Also played with production model. Screen kicks ass it's verly large and bright, but i'm not sure how is that gonna work for the battery. Menus are standard auvox crap they can be confusing sometimes. Looks pretty cool. I was just curious (as many others are, according to these threads) if anyone has any REAL, FACTUAL information as to the release date of the VZW Version of this phone. If so, Please post it ASAP. I am a VZW Rep., and I have already had customers asking me about the 9900, and I too am waiting for its release.

There are a few posts on here about unlocking PCS phone to program on Verizon service. I had a customer in my store yesterday with a Nokia 5188i PCS phone who purchased Free-Up minutes. When the minutes loaded with no problem, it blew my mind. How do you go about doing that? Surely there must be some complications, no access to downloads and so forth. Where do you find the lock code, and how do you know what to use for the MSID and the IMSI? Please help, this is fascinating.

I see sprint released the VM4050 which is the same as the VZW 9900. I hope this means that the CDM 9900 will be out sooner than April.

Does anyone know if you will be able to send pics to other phones or to an email address? I looked at the info page, and it doesn't appear that you can. Can anyone verify this for me.

Does anyone know how much memory this phone will have? I noticed the front page said 6.5mb which seems like a small amount...but i dont know what other phones are packing these days.

Audiovox emailed me yesterday saying that it should be ready by the end of march. "should."

I heard april on this puppy from a decent source...anyone hearing the same. When this whole thing comes out just remember that i said april and we will see.
