I see sprint released the VM4050 which is the same as the VZW 9900. I hope this means that the CDM 9900 will be out sooner than April.

I FOUND OUT TODAY FROM AT&T THAT CINGULER DID NOT BUY THEM OUT AS OF YET THERE ARE OTHER COMPANIES THAT MADE OFFERS TO BUY AT&T AND I ALSO HEARD THAT VERIZON MIGHT BE ONE OF THEM I AM LOCATED IN NH AND I HEARD THIS FROM A AT&T SALES MAN

Pidly salesmen don't know what is actually going on and are deffinetly not a good source for grand scale corporate mergers that need unbeleivable amounts of FCC red tape to be cut through for the companies to even talk to each other about maybe possibly talking about having a meeting to discuss the possibilities of said merger.

But use some common sense, VZW is not going to buy a primarly GSM,TDMA carrier, It would be logistically and financially unthinkable.

To throw out a more likely "hypothetical situation"
Cingular merges ATT $ T Mobile to become largest

Vzw acquires Sprint PCS, & Alltell to leapfrog cingular

Nextel looks to expand into CDMA with Alltel
or US wireless after they are forced to relocate their spectrum.

No I did not say that, I said that Cingular was by far the most likely party to take on the soon-to-be-defunct ATT wireless, no sale is final at all the initial bidding process doesn't even close until Feb 13th, after that comes months of red tape, It's not like your ATT store will suddenly rip down the sign and toss up a Cingular x thingy .

The kickers in the equation are the Japanese company that has 17% ownership in ATT now, they gave up their voting rights so they could join the bidding process, this would possibly be a chance for them to break into the US market full steam, and destroying Cingulars wishes to be the largest carrier in the US,(they are gunning for VZW's title)

VOdofone, (VZW to the layman) will most likely bid but...

🤣 yo patra, listen to your boy webgem78, he knows whats up.

we know what you heard, but like your boy said, most salesman don't know dick, especially at&t salesman.

possible and probable scenario: with fcc approval cingular and att will merge; 1 loser + 1 loser = bigger loser. who cares, bring on the churn

if an opportunity presents itself vzw will buy sprint, depends on spectrum, POPS, market share, a lot of different variables. but they don't have to.

by the time at&t and cingular get there acts together, merge networks, billing systems, etc, they will have lost enough customers due to poor customer service and lnp that vzw will surpass them in customer base if they cont to grow at their current rate; q4 03' 1.5 million

sprint is not for sale, but if a company has enough capital (vzw) then two things can happen; a hostile takeover (doesn't happen much) or the purchasing company can make a tender offer big enough the share holders will accept.

sprint and vzw both have 1xRTT CDMA networks, it's simply an issue of compatibility.

😈 verizon WILL NOT buy at&t. main reason, the fcc won't allow it, the other is obvious; networks aren't compatible. either vodafone, cingular, or docomo will buy them. cingular is more likely although docomo already owns about 15%. your at&t salesman doesn't know jack other than he will be out of a job very soon. ha ha
