Blackjack vs Pearl

Thoughts on Blackjack vs Pearl? My needs in order are: good phone reception/ volume (I'm located in hilly Pittsburgh), easy web browsing, ease of E-mail use (Yahoo Plus user), ease of reading Microsoft Office attachments. I really like the size of the Pearl but the Blackjack is nice too.

Windows crashing/phone freezing?

Anybody else have this problem? I have to turn the phone off & on, & even remove the battery. Love the phone, but this isn't good.

BlackJack and Audible.com

I've been trying to see if the BlackJack can play Audible.com. I know that other Windows Mobile devices can, but I'd just like verification from someone with the phone that this works.

Storing Notes.

I understand that the Micrsoft software can only be use to read data (is this correct?).

I am wondering if there is a feature that allows for the storage of notes. I have not been able to see the phone in person and really want to know what the abilities are.

I frequently do stock trading with via my PC with Ameritrade and would like to be able to edit notes pertaining to my transactions. I was considering the Cingular 8125 which I understand can be used to edit spreadsheet info. but I'm not certain what type of editing you can do with the BlackJack.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

AIM

First off, great phone! I highly recommend it (knock on wood). Go get it! The form factor, features, etc. are all great.

My only challenge so far is getting the installed IM client to work. Has anyone tried it? I get through the sign in and when it starts to get my buddy kist, it freezes. I get a "communication error. check your settings" error. Well, there are no settings (port, etc.) to check. Any thoughts??

Text message .. help!

Sup guys. I have a question. So I was going to upgrade my girls text messages from 400 to 1000 on-line. What I did was I accidentally change my phone text plan from 400 to 1000 instead of hers. When I saw my mistake I then changed mine back from 1000 messages to 400 and later, I changed my girlfriends. My question is .. are they gonna charge me extra for changing my text plan from 400 messages to 1000 messages .. back to 400?? thanks for the help guys.

Treo 650 to BlackJack

Any past Treo 650 users that switched to the BlackJack? I'm thinking of making the switch, interested to hear what you guys think about the switch to wm5 and lack of touchscreen.

Black Jack email question

I bought a 3125 a few days ago, just went back to the store to swap out my phone, (since we have 30 days 🙂) for a black jack. My question is, when I set up my express mail, when you get notified of an email, does that count as a text message? On the 3125 I had the smartphone connect unlimited plan, then I added 200 Texts a month. So when I get the Black Jack (they had to oder one, didn't have any in stock ☚ī¸ ) all I should have to do is put my sim card in my new phone, right? No other changes need to be made, or am I missing something? Thanks

Blackjack vs Treo 680

Trying to decide between the treo 680 and the blackjack. I know each has different platforms but they still perform the same I think.

Q on the data plans for blackjack

Does the unlimited internet/email inclusde the use of AIM/YahooIM/ICQ or does Cingular somehow know youre using those on the net, and charge you as texting with it?

The term IM is a bit fuzzy on their site, IM messeging from phone to phone, or is it IM'ing as in over the net, texting.

I'd just hate to have to pay $40 for a data plan and another $20 just to get on aim 😛

MediaNet Settings

After spending 45min on the phone with Technical Support, I discover the obvious: Cingular has no idea how to configure settings on this phone. I get internet access (albeit slow), but cannot connect to MediaNet.

here's what I have set so far:

Connection/GPRS/Media NEt:
Connects to Internet
Access Pt: wap.cingular
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
Primary DNS/Secondary DNS/IP Address all blank

Connection/GPRS Authentication:
Set to CHAP

Proxy:
Connects From: WAP Network
Connects TO: Internet
Proxy: wireless.cingular.com:80
Type: WAP
username/password are blank

This gets me error msg: Internet Connection Not Configured Properly when trying to connect to Media Net. Also, cant find Cingular Music and...

your bill?

I keep reading about people who have the media net 200 package and using it with their BJ
Has anyone actually gotten a bill for only the $20 media net with no extra data charges while using their BJ?

VOICE DIAL?????

This might be a great phone but how could a phone with so much technology not have voice dialing?
Inexpensive phones have this feature and here is what might be a great phone without this feature. The Q has it, Treo has it even the Razor has it.
Will there be a voice dial to buy that is WM5 compatible, the one from Microsoft, Voice Command is for WM3.
Any info would be great.
