I keep reading about people who have the media net 200 package and using it with their BJ
Has anyone actually gotten a bill for only the $20 media net with no extra data charges while using their BJ?

do this, i dont have a bj but go to your inet settings and see that the phone is setup for wap.cingular.
With mediaworks, you get the apn, wap.cingular.
As long as you arent using isp.cingular or ispda.cingular then you will be fine.
Also call cingular and tell them to cancel pay per use data if its on your account. What this does is it wont allow you to even get on the inet if you are using the wrong settings and therefore wont get a huge bill.
TRUST ME....when i say that mediaworks/media net plans work with the bj and every other pda/smartphone out there and you wont get charged outrageous bills. The only way you get in trouble and is you are tethering to your laptop which is very noticeable if you do it often.

I have a regular WAP phone (SE W600) and use the apn isp.cingular for certain java apps with no problem and no add'l charges, so I don't think it matters which apn is used.

thats an error on your account then. and that happens all the time. Reps and CS that dont setup accounts correctly can provision you for both apn's. And sometimes if you ask nicely, they will do it for you.
