features and plans..

does anyone know if i will be able to downlaod mp3 ringtones i make from "theringtonemaker.com" to the Blackjack? also, i am currently with t-mobile but more than willing to switch for 3G purposes and to obtain this phone over my Dash. i became interested in this phone when it was being promoted only as the i320. when i heard Cingular was picking it up, i shied away from it because of Cingular's data plans. BUT, it would appear fromt he Cingular website that the Max 3000 plan is offered in my area for $39.99(Indianapolis). But, i do not know if that's data only or voice & data. Does anyone know?

Awesome Phone...loads of free stuff available for it!!

Hey got my Blackjack a couple of days ago and i love it...it is fantastic and i just love the size of the thing.

I have also been trawling around looking for some stuff i can pimp it out with like blackjack homescreesn, blackjack free software or blackjack tweaks and hacks and i came accross this site which is packed with stuff for the blackjack.

Tether?

Are you able to tether the Blackjack to a laptop and use it as a modem?

I was told

I was told to call Cingular CS and give them the IMEI number to a non BJ type phone (I take it, like a regular run of the mill flip phone)
then add the $20 Media 200 pkg and put your SIM card in to your BlackJack and away you go.....

Call me a worry wart, but would hate to do this and find a $500 cellular bill next month for data usage

Blackjack vs. Cingular / HTC 8125 Windows Mob 5 ??

Hello:

Is the version of the Windows Mobile 5 operating system installed on the Samsung Blackjack identical to the O/S on the Cingular 8125 or is there a difference?

Anyone know?

Thanks much,

Andy

Zip files

Anyone know of a good FREE program that will open zip files? I just sent one to myself and I get "unrecognized file type". So if anyone could suggest something I'd appreciate it.

Blackjack vs. 3125 (Processer)

I know both phones are smart phones and are not PDAs, but witch one has a faster processing time?

I like how both phones look...although the qwerty keypad would definitely come in handy.
My first choice was the 3125, but I wanted to hold of on getting it as soon as I heard about the blackjack. I also like the fact that it is on 3G...

Does anyone have experience with both phones. I looked at both phones for about 10 minutes each, and I still don't know what I should get...even though i am leaning toward the blackjack...

Software options

I've never used a Windows device before, so I'm wondering if all of the available software for pocket pc's can be downloaded on to the Blackjack?

Thanks

Blackjack is no Ace

I haven't been this excited about a phone release for some time. Once again, I cant understand why.
The Cingular Blackblack falls short of expectations.

3G data speeds are horrid. My 3125 and Nokia E62 on EDGE blow away the Blackjack on supposed 3G. After using the LG & SYNC data, I thought this could be the 'one'. Nope!

If it's email and the form factor you are after, this one could be for you. If you want speed and ease of use, go for the Nokia E62. Once you get passed the Symbian OS, it's a peach.

3G Video

I posted this question on the Treo 750 forum and have gotten nowhere. I have a Treo 750v that I flashed with the Cingular ROM and am trying to get video clips to work on it. I read the preview article on this phone (the BlackJack) and it has 3G video capabilities. I have no such menus on the Treo that can take me to the video page and when I punch the address "cingularvideo.cingular.com" into my browser I get an error message saying that videos only work with 3G phones. The Treo 750 is a 3G phone, wtf? Anybody know why the BlackJack has these capabilities and the Treo does not? The BlackJack has HSDPA and the Treo has UMTS, but aren't both considered 3G? Maybe a later ROM version for the Cingular Treo 750 will enable this? Feedback w...

Email

I've been using the BlackBerry 7100 and have really gotten used to the great email. I bought the BlackJack this morning. So far so good. Do you have to have a seperate server to use the MS push email? Will it work with AOL mail?

unsatisfied customer..

Got Samsung Blackjack-- doesn't work.

Looks cool as hell, great features, *great* potential.

Been on w/ Cingular all day-- now they are on with Samsung, I'm holding for a "level 2 tech"

Intermittent problems w/ almost every aspect of the phone's operation. Dropped calls, can't get on internet, email, etc.

I have a *feeling* it's not this unit alone-- but obviously that's a wild guess. My advice-- wait.

Xpress Mail?

Anybody know if Xpress Mail-

1)leaves Cingular or Xpressmail tagline on all outgoing mail

2)requires a computer turned on and connected to the internet

Thanks.

AIM / Instant Messaging

I currently have a sidekick 2, and I been dieing to get rid of it since Jan 2006. I've been thru the Blackberry 8700c, Palm Treo 650, Cingular 8125, etc.

I right now have LG CU500 Phone + Sidekick 2 as a 2nd phone for internet.

I am very big with using AIM more then anything. My question is does this unit have AIM installed? Or is there any good versions of AIM to download?

The cingular 8125 sucked horribly with 3rd party AIM software, and so did the treo 650. I really want to combine my 2 phones into 1. The blackberry was nice but it had its flaws with web browsing.

Someone give me some feedback please regarding instant messaging on this device. If anyone knows of any other data phones great for AIM with cingular service f...
