Does the unlimited internet/email inclusde the use of AIM/YahooIM/ICQ or does Cingular somehow know youre using those on the net, and charge you as texting with it?

The term IM is a bit fuzzy on their site, IM messeging from phone to phone, or is it IM'ing as in over the net, texting.

I'd just hate to have to pay $40 for a data plan and another $20 just to get on aim 😛

if ur using an im client that came with the software already on the phone then cingular bills that as a txt msg. you need to buy a 3rd party Im device so that it uses data such as IM+ or agile messenger.

You don't have to pay $40.00 for unlimited data you can get the Smart Phone unlimited for $20.00 with the BlackJack. If they wont sell it to you in the stores call customer service. Tell them you know several Cingular customers with BJ and the $20.00 Smartphone unlimited plan. Both plans are the same except one cost $40.00.

you can just use mediaworks plan and spend even less for data/msg plan. just sign up online, no need to call customer service.

If only you could do this online, I would do it in a heart beat. The option for the mediaworks plan is not there when you have a Blackjack selected. I wish it was that easy, I am afraid if I call any try to do that, they will give me a bunch of grief...

http://www.cingular.com/cell-phone-service/services/ ... »

go to that page and order. Also when you log onto cingular, change the type of phone you have to a simple wap phone and then you cant be denied any mediaworks bundle.

So I guess that I already have to have this phone to add this right. Currently, my wife has Cingular, I have Sprint, I want to switch to Cingular by next week. So what is the best way to do this? I would like to have the this phone, but am also looking at the 3125. I think I would rather have this phone if I can work it out to get the media max plan for 19.99. I guess I am still a little confused on how to go about this??? Thanks in advance for any help! 😉

Here's a good one. I decided to try and call cingular to see what packages are available for the Black Jack, and he informed me that there are no unlimited data packages for Cingular 😳 . I said "are you sure about that?" He said yes. At that point I just said that is all I need right now, don't want him to get any credit for a sale after that statement!

I wish it was easier to get the 19.99 unlimited package for this phone. I am not using this for business, just the personal email/web surfing. Jeez!!

yes, it is true, some of those people you talk to at Cingular CS are pretty bad
If I need to change something on my current policy, you have to do it two or three times to get it right or for it to even get done

And

some of the CS people you talk to, you yourself know more about what's going on than they do

You can do a family plan and move her to one, or you could just add yourself on as your own plan.
