Re: Need help to flex my Cingula v400 to Motorola OEM flex
Here's a guide I found a few days ago which someone else wrote on flexing your phone:
http://www.cellular-support.com/nuke/ftopi ct-4248.html
A few things to note:
You will lose all data on your phone including ringtones, pictures, phone numbers stored in your phone, settings, etc. You should back up everything beforehand using Mobile PhoneTools.
I highly recommend only flexing your phone and not updating the firmware; the firmware has been reported to cause some problems.
The V600 flexware version in the 3rd post is the same flexware I'm using on my V400. I've been using it for months and have had no problems whatsoever. I suggest you go with it.
If you were wanting a V400 unbranded flex, I'm not sure where you could get one.

Regular Volume (non-speaker) and Speaker volume
I'm confused on something about the mic's volume (non-speaker). I turned it up all the way and it didn't appear to get the same max volume I get on my old LG 510. When I used the speaker phone on the VX6100 it was great and I didn't need to adjust the volume.
Note: I do use hearing aides (they have volume control), but I have to be careful with feedback (setting aides too high). I do have the option of my aide's t-coil (cuts out all background noise and only hear stuff over the phone) and it worked great. Which is a huge advantage in loud places like airports.
So, why is the speakerphone better than the volume on the phone's regular mic?
I have only used the phone for 24 hrs in anywhere from quiet locations (use regular mic & speaker phone) to very loud locations (use my t-coil for these). Maybe I need to keep trying the volume control.

Re: Can't sync with ActiveSync over Bluetooth
OK, after looping around in circles a few thousand times, I finally got it to work as well. Part of the trick is how you set up the connection on your PC (I think) and part of it is how you set up BT on your phone.
1] It is true that you MUST sync at least once with your PC using the cable before BT sync will work.
2] Be sure to remove the cable before trying to sync the phone via BT or IR.
3] Remove any previous parings/bondings you may have already established between the phone and the PC (both on the phone and on the PC).
4] Go into ActiveSync on your phone (Start|6)
5] Press Menu|3 to set up your BT ActiveSync connection.
6] Press [Start]
7] Phone tells you to "Please bond...". Press [OK]
8] Wait a few seconds and you will be in the Bluetooth setup. Set the bluetooth mode to "Discoverable". (On may work as well, but the only time I got this all to work was when I set it to Discoverable, however that may have just been a coincidence.)
9] Press [Menu][1] to go to the device screen where you can (re)add your computer as a bonded (paired) device.
10] Press [Menu][1] to search for new devices.
11] Your computer should show up on this list. Select it by pressing [Select].
12] You will be asked for a passkey. This is the key that your PC will wind up asking you for--just to make sure the connection is authorized. Enter in any key you want here--four zeros, some password, whatever you like. Just remember what you enter, as you will need to enter it again on your computer to complete the connection.
13] Click [Done].
14] In a few seconds, your computer will display a dialog box indicating that your phone is trying to pair with your computer and will provide you with a text field to enter the BT Pin Code--or it may say Key or Password; whatever they ask for, what they want is whatever code you just entered into the phone in step 12. Once you have entered the code into your computer, click the OK button on your computer screen.
15] Back to the phone: The phone will now allow you to enter an alternate name for the BT connection (defaults to whatever name the BT software found as the name for your computer. You can allow this name and just click [Done] or you can enter a new name first.
16] You will be told your Smartphone has connected with your computer and you will be brought back to the device screen. Click [Done] until you are back at the ActiveSync app. Or you can just press [End Call] and then go back into the ActiveSync app manually.
17] Once back in ActiveSync on the phone, click on [Menu] again and press [4] (connect via Bluetooth).
18] Back to your computer: your PC should alert you that your Bluetooth device is attempting to establish a serial connection... you will need to allow it by checking the box.
Once this connection is allowed, you will be able to sync via bluetooth.
Note: Unless you have SP2 installed (which I do not, since it is pure concentrated evil), most people will have different bluetooth software. What this means is that the ACTUAL dialog boxes--what they are called, what text they have in them, what buttons they show, whether they pop up from the system tray or just in the middle of your screen--will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, so you will need to kind of wing it to get the proper result. SP2 comes with default BT software, which is MS's stab at standardizing this very confusing array of vendor's interfaces. I hope it works out for them.
In any case, that should get you where you need to be. At least, it's worked for me and I can unpair and remove devices and do it again and repeat the success, so I know these steps at least work for me. Hope they help someone else as well. :)

Re: No Recall?
Any idea when the phone will be re-released in stores? I don't want to waste going there only to pick up another sh**ty phone.
On a side note... I love how verizon claims that once we complain about a problem it becomes there problem. Worry Free Guarantee my a**. Just admit there's a problem and address it without giving me the run around.

Works fine clipped to my visor...
Also it really works great with a headset... then you can have the flip closed...
I use a Jabra "EarWave"... I have a dozen other ones but that is the best...

Re: T-Mobile Phones
hmm. i was in the same situation as you were in. i had to go through 3 motorola v300's.
The first two would disconnect me after five minutes of talking. The Last phone didnt come with any ringtones - so it was on silent all the time. Confusing. So they sent me a E715 (SAMSUNG) ... hmmm i like it. but i do miss the V300'S speakerphone and and voice adtivated calling. But, the E715's sound is sharp(er than the V300), you dont have to put it up to your ear, its THAT loud. The sound is very clear and colorful, and the signal is good.. like the V300.
You can also take pictures with the flip closed and can see the picture that you are taking on the outside LCD.. athough it isnt color its a cool feature to show off to your friends.
i would check out the panasonic phone if you dont mind the price... i would also check out the E315 with a color lcd display. other than that i think your stuck with the v300. Unless if the "slider" is your thing. good luck, and tell us what you end up getting.
*note, i would not get the V600 if you dont like the V300.
Re: Advise: Return V710?
... Also take note, the v710 has given me service that no other phone has...underground in NYC subways.
Good luck :) ...
