iPhone Killer Identified ! ! !
by Want_New_Phone    Jul 24, 2007, 1:53 PM
in the Verizon forum

It looks like the iPhone killer turns out to be the AT&T network. See attached Forbes article. http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2007/07 /24/ap3946304.html Highlights for those that can't open link: Early Tuesday, AT&T - the exclusive wireless carrier for the iPhone - said it activated 146,000 iPhones in the first two days after the product was released, which mark the tail end of Apple's second quarter. Some analysts had forecast the iPhone's first-weekend sales would range from 250,000 to 700,000. On Monday, CIBC World Markets analyst Ittai Kidron wrote that store checks show iPhone demand has been dropping significantly during the last 10 days. "We have noticed decent inventories at stores, and thin demand at best. In fact, most Apple store visitors were not looking at the device and only a very small subset bought it," he said in a client note. The analyst added that a CIBC iPhone buyer survey indicated one issue users have with the current iPhone is poor data connectivity through AT&T's EDGE network.
