past year. Net adds were up more than 22 percent versus AT&T's gain in
the first quarter of this year and in line with results in the
year-earlier second quarter. Postpaid net adds totaled 912,000, up more
than 34 percent from results in the first quarter of this year."
Verizon had a net addition of 1.3 subscribers in the last quarter.

Yup, all of that, plus better prepay options, and easing up on the crippling of bluetooth (not just for the high end phones, but across the line).
And, as Sangy implied, at the low end, clear out all the crap phones that no one cares about (the audiovox-made 'CDM' phones, any kyoceras that come along), and stick with LG and Samsung at the low end (3400/3450, u340). 'Free phone' doesn't have to equal 'tragic' phone. âšī¸
At the high end, they obviously need some more 'wow' phones and PDAs... CDMA version...
