I'm Sorry You Feel That Way
by OhSoKorny    Jul 20, 2006, 9:26 AM
in the Shop Talk forum

I'm Sorry You Feel That Way. Probably the best phrase that I have come across working in both cellphone customer care and in sales. It absolutely whips angry customers into a frothing rage, and there's not a damn thing they can do about it. (Note: Only use the phrase when the customer is being a total jerk, and you are A) Either not going to get the sale anyway or B) Are so fed up you don't want this person's money even if they do buy) Example: I had one guy call in demanding that I price match Best Buy. He said that he couldn't buy there because "Their computers were down." Yeah right. He probably just had a large deposit. Finally after explaining that not only could I not match Best Buy, but I couldn't even SEE their promotions and I wasn't going to rely on his word what was free there and what was not... I used the phrase. "Sir, I cannot match another store's prices." "This is ridiculous! You both sell wireless phones! I can't believe I spent all this time at the store and now you're telling me... blah, blah, blah, blah. You guys suck!" "I'm sorry you feel that way." The customer paused for a moment and I could imagine his eyes bugging. Then he started screaming into the phone more curses and finally hung up. So use it yourself today with your daily asshat. I've been working the phones for three years and have found it works best with the alpha male types. :P

On a lighter note

Since everyone has a stick up their ass I wanted to lodge a complaint with us cellular and their AIM system. When I try to do something and the java application has timed out it says "bean has been deleted". As a mexican american i feel this is improper to single me out and call me names just because i was trying to do something after my login timed out. Please fix or call someone in IS because im angry that us cellular is so racist.

I am shocked that you would expose such confidential information on a public forum such as this. U.S. Cellular's dislike of the mexican people is to be safely tucked away along side with the information that is present on the phone rebate forms. It people like you that do not live and breath the True Value and D.O. who casting shame upon this organization. My position as a retail sales consultant for an agent requires me to to deliver you a message from the Foot *smack* shut it, ms. oneil.
