Nextel + Nokia?

Hi All,

I'm new on the board, and was trying to do some research on whether it was possible to use a Nokia phone with Nextel service? I'm with cingular right now and the only reason i'm sticking with them is because you can go with just about any phone, although my reception is terrible wherever i really need it (most notably at home and in my cube). but now i'm seeing that nokia phones are coming with ptt technology as well. I can't stand motorola phones or flip-phones in general.

If anyone could shed some light on this topic for me, it'd be much appreciated. Thank you very much!

what I want in my next cell phone

I don't want to haul around a phone, MP3 player, camera, PDA, notebook etc.

what I want is one device, the size of my cell phone that combines all the features of these devices.

what I want:

size of my current cellphone (Audiovox cdm-9900)

cell phone features at least as good as current + mp3 ringtones

2MP 3x optical zoom camera w/ VGA/30fps movie mode

industry standard flash memory card/data in industry standard storage format

read and write files on flash card using standard tools in windows, linux and macos

play MP3 and mpeg/mp4/divx (at VGA/30fps when driving remote display)(limitation to proprietary formats unacceptable, but support for proprietary formats in addition to standard formats desirable)

PDA capabil...

Why no Large display NON Camera Phones at Verizon

I recently switched to Verizon from Cingular and am starting to wish I hadn't.I Switched Family first to Moto 815 and 265 both fit the people using them Except the 265 has a dinky 128x128 display.I am having a hard time deciding on a phone for me I need a phone without a camera (work place limitation) I also need a large display (eye limitation) all the non camera phones at verizon except the samsung 650 have dinky displays & the Samsung 650 has no external display. Motorola has released a GSM phone at Cingular with large 176 X 220 display no camera and an external display. It also has a speakerphone and blutooth. When I e-mailed Motorola about a CDMA version coming out they just said it was a GSM phone and wouldn't work on Verizon. Duh! Any...

Nokia Wireless GPS Module LD-1W

I received this unit from a radio station contest. I currently don't have a Nokia phone. I'm on an old AT&T plan that I don't want to give up. However, if I were able to get an unlocked Nokia phone compatible with this unit, I would consider it... It says on the back of the box - For: Nokia 6620, 6600, 6630, 6670, 7610, 9500, 9300, N-Gage, N-Gage QD. A couple questions...

Does any one know which of the above phones were offered by AT&T so that I can look to see if I can get one of those? Or does the fact that the phone is "unlocked" make it irrelevant that it was offered by AT&T for me to stay on my current plan and be able to use the Nokia phone and this GPS Module.

Any one use this unit before?

Any costs associated with using...

Study: No Link Between Cell Phones, Tumors

http://apnews.myway.com//article/20050831/D8CAR9081. ... »

Aug 31, 9:45 AM (ET)

By MATT MOORE

LONDON (AP) - Mobile phone users can dial without concern after another study found no evidence of a link between the ubiquitous devices and brain tumors.

The study, conducted by the London-based Institute of Cancer Research, and published this week on the British Journal of Cancer's Web site, found no increased risks of a rare benign tumor in the nerve that links the ear to the brain.

It echoed the findings of a similar study by Swedish investigators last year and of scores of other studies investigating a possible link between the use of cellular phones and brain cancer.

Researchers questioned 678 patients already diagnosed wit...

Motorola V550, V551, V555? What's the difference?

I want to buy a new phone..... what is the big differences between these phones? Is it just their appearance; color? Are they pretty much the same phone? I live in an area that only has two providers: cellular one and ACS... I have one year left on my C.O. contract, so my choices are limited... my old nokia 3560 is old! Thanks!
