Motorola V635 -vs- Sony Ericsson S710a

My previous phone was a Motorola V3 RAZR and I loved it. While in the UK for 2 weeks I bought a Sony Ericsson k750i which is awesome but when I brought it over to the states I realized that I need the 850 band that it was lacking.

I'm going to return the k750i and either buy the Motorola v635 or the Sony Ericsson s710a. Any suggestions on which one to buy?

I liked Sony's GUI better than motorola's and I also like the QVGA screen on it, however the Motorola is quad band and the Sony is only Tri-band (not that big of a deal to me though). Also, the Motorola appears to be cheaper, but the k750i is more than both of them so that shouldn't be a problem.

I like the 1.3MP cameras on both (the k750i had a 2MP) but I like how the sony you...

Verizon or Cingular in California???

Okay so I need help: My Verizon contract is up very soon, and I don't know if I want to renew. I have been very pleased with Verizon in LA- I usually have reception in basements and things like Disneyland, the Bev Center (a tough one!) where others don't. But I keep hearing all of this hype on Cingular and GSM since the merger and I do like some of their features like rollover minutes and the fact that you can download free ringtones. (Verizon makes you use Get It Now which is sort of a rip-off.) And of course, Cingular has supercool (yet somewhat overrated imo, RAZR.) Their phone selection overall is just WAY better than Verizon. But my question and most important issue above cool things like fun ringtones and cool phones is reliability. Fr...

Cingular, T-Mobile & 850 MHz GSM

I just purchased the Sony Ericsson k750i phone over in England. The phone is Tri-band without 850.

I live in bergen county NJ and I am a Cingular wireless customer. I was wondering if Cingular uses the 850 band much in this area.

Also, I've heard that cingular uses all of T-Mobile's towers and that T-mobile uses 1900 exclusively, is that true?

If Cingular doesn't use all of T-mobile's towers and T-mobile uses 1900 and not 850 then I guess I will either switch to T-mobile or sell my new phone (which I hope is not the case, its a sweet phone)

Trouble Formatting Transflash

I recently purchased a Transflash Memory Card for my Motorola E815. I have attempted to format it on the phone, but I keep recieving the message, "Format Failed". When I put the card into the SD adapter to my computer, it says that the card cannot be accessed. Does anyone have an answer or suggestion?

Siemens A65 with Freia. Please help!

I have recently purchased a Siemens A65 mobile that is locked to T-Mobile. We bought a T-Mobile SIM card but I'd prefer to be with O2. I looked on some other forums and found out about "Freia" software. It apparently unlocks your phone. If anyone knows about it could they contact me because I'm having a few problems! 😉 Thanks.

Attention anyone that can unlock a Treo 650

I just bought a Treo 650 from Cingular and would like to have it unlocked. Does anyone out there know of anyone or any company that can unlock this phone in San Diego?

I'm told that it's such a new phone it may take months to find someone that knows how to unlock it.

Smart Phones with Edge Capability

I recently purchased the Audiovox 5600 phone from Cingular. Overall I'm pleased with the phone, but I was somewhat disappointed that it does not have Edge capability for data transfer. I changed from the Nokia 6230 which did have Edge and it was quite a bit faster on downloads. It is my understanding that none of the smartphones currently have Edge. Can anyone tell me why this is the case and if there may be an option to upgrade the phone in the future. Just seems like a step backwards in terms of design. Thanks for any information.

Comparison on GSM and CDMA Phones?

Dear All:

We have received a question from one of our colleagues in terms of the comparison between the GSM and CDMA phones. Maybe you have worked with this item on your country. The question is independent from the manufacturer:

- Could you please send us the comparison between the GSM and CDMA phones?. In terms of features? technical differences?
- In terms of quantity, is there any official source that indicates the quantity of models available for either techonology?

Thanks for your time.. your answers are appreciate it.

Regards,
Carlo
