I try not to Judge

I'm starting to think I should just start a Blog, I have all these random things I just want to write down and post, not that I think most people care but there you are.

I really do try not to judge people. I like to think that I am an open minded, liberal individual who is willing to accept anybody as a person of equal value. I've found that with this job, it's increasingly difficult to do that.

When a caller comes through who uses terrible English... not somebody who has an accent but who slurs and doesn't bother trying to speak clearly I automatically want to hang up on them. If that's not my first response I want to tell them "You have to have a credit card to talk to me, and I'm betting you don't." I want to tell them they are...

This is just retarded

I am about to have taken my 20th call. It's noon. I got here at 10. This is just retarded. Upper management can't find their collective asses without radar tracking, and a team of flaggers... using both hands... on a good day. There are 10 agents available and I know the moment I hit the in button I will take a call and it will be back to back to back calls again. I'm going online now to look up classified adds.

Another terrible day in a string of terrible days.

This last week has just plain sucked. They stole my desk for their stupid testing project... they're testing the new software as far as how well it works with certain web browsers... which is just stupid. The unholy abortion that passes for our software barely hobbles through a day of functioning on our end, the one where it runs through it's own browser, they should be focusing on making it work properly by itself before they try to make it work right thought an esoteric browser.

Disgusting/disturbing cell phone usage...

I work at a mall kiosk. I just went to the rest room and overheard a guy talking on his cell phone in one of the stalls... while he was doing his business. Ugh.

Do You Feel Clever Now? You're Not.

This guy just gave me the impression that he wanted to feel special and clever by quoting phone names and models at me. I wanted to tell him he wasn't clever, he was being a jerk, that he wasn't a 'man about town' he was a prick. I can't, I didn't, I thought about it.

He called in asking about pricing on the "K-Jam" that he had seen that we carried on a web site. I explained that the phone isn't currently being carried by anybody but we have hopes of getting it in since it is compatible... and pretty cool. The only listing for the K-Jam is a tentative for Cingular. He then started saying that Verizon carried it too. No they don't, it's not compatible. He then said he saw it at the Verizon booth under the model Audiovox PPC-6600......

How about this?

Customer doesn't have enough money to buy a Prepaid phone, and knows he won't pass a credit check for the three postpay companies we carry.

So he tries to apply for a store credit card to buy a prepay phone!

how long have u been doing this?

heres a question im curious to know....how long has everyone been doing what your doing.....specify care/corp rep/ agent/dealer whatever.........my bitterness stems from well going on 6 years now and the changes i have seen with in the wireless industry....while good for consumer...bigger better network, family plans, etc.....but as a corp employee....it steadily gets worse and worse.....do more.....make less....get treated worse....and worse......and worse....etc....................

Funny customers remind me why I love my job!

I had this customer come in here today and he told me he needed to pay his bill. He gave me his number and when I pulled it up and told him the hefty price he just shook his head. Then he said "Curse my parents for concieving me" A little confused and unable to stifle the giggle I asked him "why?" He promptly informed that if he wasn't born he would not have gone over his minutes and had such a high bill. 🤣

I'm on my third bottle of Mountain Dew today. And I buy the six packs of 24 oz. from the supermarket. So right now I'm drinking ounces 49 through 72.

Cell phone users beware..

I was just informed by the very nice lady who stopped by the kiosk the other day that there is a very terrible cell phone virus that is out floating around. Apparently if you call someone else's phone who has this virus your phone will contract it and your phone will automatically freeze and lock up.

It's a FREAK SHOW!!!

question help?

i work for vzw and ported in a number from cingular the othe day.the customer bought a razor and it will not store viedos...so i changed out the phone it took viedos before the esn change and when we did the esn change it stoped storing the viedos again...and the old phone started storing them again..so we did an esn change on a co workers phone and it worked...(stored viedos) so we tryed 3 more phones and they all stored viedos until we did the esn change...i have never seen this and vzw has no idea what is wrong with it other than all our phones are a defect....anyone have any ideas? this is very strange?
ps we also tried another type of phone samsung a950 and it did the same thing.

outsourcing

in my union thread people were mentioning outsourcing as a way for compaines to deal with union demands......cell phone compaines already do this....it's called dealers...no offense to dealers your just doing a job to make money like everyone else....but this is why as a copporate employee i hate dealers....they can sell what i sell for less (equipment)....etc....anyways...i hate this whole industry...you can buy wirless service in fing barber shops for pete's sakes.......

Crazy Woman

A lot of weird things happen to us in this business, whether your in customer care, or in a store front or kiosk. Where I'm from, West Texas, we get our fair share of unusual ocurrences. What happened today would fall into this category. I was with a customer when a woman came in holding a lot of Wal-Mart shopping bags and was on foot. One of my reps walked over to help her and proceeded in the normal manner we help all customers. The lady started asking about the differences between Tracfone and Cingular Go Phone (we are a Cingular dealer). Well my rep answered the best she could. More hating 'them'

Such a bunch of crap. I have had the same desk for over six months. I have a moniter stand, I have all my paperwork and reference material, I have my chap stick and lotion and a nail file... I have everything I could possibly need to keep me happy and doing my job effectively. I have my cheese (read the book "Who Moved my Cheese" to get that.)

They moved me so that some test group could use my computer. I hate them. They had just recently converted a training room into a call room, why couldn't they put the test group into that room instead of displacing the normal reps. I'm having a horrible day but what's worse is the fact that they put the notice saying they were evicting me from my desk up and then somebody put up one of the li...
