Maybe if you say it again things will change!(ranting)

Customer walks in, belly ups to the counter and proclaims "I'll tell you what, your billing system is for ****!" Of course I inquire as to the issue. Turns out that he hasn't paid a bill or two and is now looking current plus past due charges. He claims he made payments and we must be wrong! I being the non biased person I am inform him that if he brings in a bank statement validating this I would take care of it for him. He continues to bitch on and on about how he isn't paying this bill. It then digresses into him wanting the account in his name rather than his wifes and I should just do that for him right now. After 30 minutes of me saying that can't be done for various reasons and him calling me a slue of curse words, he finally ...

200 txt + Unlim text = 600 txt

So, a guy came in today wanting to know about our new unlimited text messaging plans. I begin to tell him that for only $5 additional to your current messaging plan, you can have unlimited cingular to cingular text.

His eyes seemed to glaze over and he looked confused.

Cust - But, I have 200 now, why would I want 600?

Me - ?? ๐Ÿคจ ??

Cust - Cause see, I have 200 text now with unlimited media net and Cingular Video.

Me - Ok, so your plan is $19.99 for all of that, so, for an additional $5 ($24.99) you could have 200 text for other carriers and unlim for Cingular.

Cust - But I dont need 600 text messages. I dont need all that. I just need my 200

Me - My eyes glaze over, *BIG HUFF* Ok, sir, where are you getting 600 te...

Business Accounts...

I hate people that come to my kiosk saying I have a business account that their company pays the bill for, but they quit and want a new phone. They come to my store expecting me to wave a magic wand, let them keep their old number and then give them a free phone and not need their boss to allow them to do this. Then they yell at me because I can't do that and tell them they need to speak with customer service. Grrr. Stupid people.

ETFs...

I've have recently read so much crap about whiny little weasels complaining about having to pay ETF for canceling their service. There are so many lawsuits from these little f^@k$ and the courts are full of the same sniveling snots that the carriers don't stand a chance.

As long as I sell a phone for less than what I pay for it, I should have every right to charge an ETF. Your monthly bill is paying for your service. I long for the day when every phone is sold at full retail. People would appreciate insurance at that point, although they might not need it so much because people would probably treat the phones with more respect.

I'm actually having a great day selling today. I'm in a good mood. I just get frustrated that certa...

Happiness

I worked at a VZW in North Carolina for about 14 months, and left in September to move up to Boston and pursue my carreer as a recording engineer/producer.

Just for fun, I decided to hop on the PhoneScoop forum this morning and see what's been going on, and it made me remember how absolutely miserable everyone in this industry is.

You guys should just quit. Wireless sucks.

Oh, and a sincere "hello" and "i miss you" to the people in Wilmington who are reading this between calls and know exactly who I am.

Serious question for techs...

I'm a sales person and not a tech. I have a certain technical aptitude, enough to swap electronics or screens out for customers who are out of warranty, see symptoms of bad batteries similar on most phones, and know that water damage is usually pretty obvious, but I don't know on paper how your job works.

We have goals and quotas for sales. Do you have quotas or limits as to how many phones you can swap out? I ask because I've had 5 people come in today who's phones have been to service centers and they still don't work. There are obvious freezing or dialing problems and the techs have told the customers there is nothing wrong with the phone. I know in some cases that the customers are just full of it or picky, but in other cases, ...

That one guy.

I know every place I've sold phones there's alway's that one guy. You know, the one who is always the top salesman. That one that uses his inner used car salesman to close deals. The one who you always end up fixing his customers problems because he promised them no activation fees and free texting for the first month. The one who gets all the company awards for setting an example for the rest of us honest guys. The one who will get promoted before you because strong salesman=leadership. The one who while he's selling you tend to plug your ears. The one that you rat out but doesn't get in trouble. Well anyways I'm sure you guys know who im talking about.

Cingy Rep to Alltel Rep

I'll be moving out of service area (cant get a local number where I'm moving, etc). They dont have local coverage.
I know with cingy we can wave the ETF. Alltel says they wont. Any ideas?
At this point I may just have to sell my phone to recoup the 200 etf.
Anyways, any ideas? thanks

They don't like it when you laugh at them.

Making a comeback in the cell phone ind. I just started at a tri-dealer (Sprint, T-Mobile, Cingular) and after working for Verizon 6 months ago, I almost forgot that a customers stupidity knows no bounds...

The Toothless Wonder, as she's so affectionately dubbed in my store, comes in with a bill and is furious.

Woo hoo...

"Ok, I have this plan that I signed up for almost a year ago, when we got our phones here. It's the 3000 minutes local plan, and I was just wondering how you guys (I love it when they refer to us as a whole) overcharged my bill $30."

"Well, it's a regional plan, secluded to UT and ID, with extra costs for roaming. Have you traveled outside the area and made a call with your phone?"

"Well, yeah. We went to Veg...

Why is it that customers don't listen?

When I ask you a simple question like, "What is the mobile number we are going to work with today?"

Why can't you give me the right one?

Instead, you give me your wife's number and when I switch the sim card your wife's phone no longer works!!!

why, Why, WHY!?!?

A guy walks in and wants to cancel his contract.

Yea, super, I don't care, go ahead.

I told him to call customer service (I'm a third party dealer) since we can't access any accounts in the store here.

He proceeds to yell "Sprint sucks".
I said "I know".
Then he leaves muttering some more crap.

I wanted to throw my pen at him. Maybe the monitor.

? For VZW Reps

So I can't seem to get an answer one way or the other, and I'm posting this in here as I know plenty of reps cruise this forum.

With the new VZW "magazines" for all the price plans, info, etc... Will they be updating those monthly? All the ones we have are dated March 2007. I wonder if they'll update those monthly, or if come July, we'll still be handing out lit dated March??

Anyone know? I can't get an answer out of any of my VZW Corp contacts regarding this.

Bartenders.....

How many of you reps out there have come to the realization that we are like bartenders. We hear about who slept with who, and why they can't afford to pay their bills, the kids who are failing school, and the parents without dental coverage, and yada yada yada.

Why is it that when we ask a simple question of "what kinds of problems are you having with the phone?" that we get the life story of a crack addict. I don't get it. I never will. I don't need to know who your husband slept with that then led you to throwing your phone at him. Just tell me that you threw your phone. It doesn't matter if you did it on accident, or on purpose, it's still not something I will fix for free.

Anyone else out there get these melodramatic stori...
