Site issues

There seem to be some minor issues with the site today. Spell checking isn't working properly, and people have reported other random issues. I haven't figured out the cause just yet. 😕

If you notice something weird, please send me a message here:

https://www.phonescoop.com/site/contact.php?q=10 »

Please include as many details as possible to help me diagnose the problem.

Thanks!

Happy new year! 🙂

Page Select

I don't know if anyone else would be intresting in a function that allows you to jump to a certain page in a forum or date would be nice. Also I like the idea someone posted awhile back in regards to a data card forum. Wireless data is becoming more and more common I believe.

rally against stupid posts

Stop stupid and lengthy strings such as "new software flash for 710", "make it to XXX pages by the new year" and "find gmail invites" etc. on the v710 forum.

HTML question

When you use the HTML codes for bold, italics, underline, etc. How do you turn them off to put the text back to normal? Also, is there a help page on this website that explains the HTML in greater detail than the information posted below the message box?

Things I don't like about phonescoop.

1. I don't like people who bash the service providers, or the phone manufacturers with bad reviews because of a defective phone or an area that gets no coverage. My grandpa worked for sprint for 30 years as a phone engineer and his phone (Kyocera), as well as phones from Verizon (Nokia) , T-mobile (Motorola and Samsung), and AT&T (another Nokia) would NOT get signal whatsoever in that basement. Please don't take a situation like that and post a user review that says T-mobile SUCKS and Samsung SUCKS it wont even get a signal in my grandpas basement. When the TRUTH is that NO phone would work in that basement.

2.I don't like people who give phones bad reviews because it does not have every feature. I remember someone giving 4 out of 5. The ...

V3 Screen ? (still)

I can't seem to find anyone that knows if the Cingular branded v3 has a 260k internal screen or a 65k internal screen. Everywhere in print at Cingular it say 65k, but everywhere else (including hellomoto) it says 260k. What gives?

Motorola V220

HELP. Can someone tell me how to set up my phone where I receive the "Voicemail Message Notificatio" icon which is the little envelope. Mine doesn't show up even when I have voice mail messages. I have tried to set it up through voicemail set up, going through notification (Option 5) which then asks me to hit #1 button which I do and then I get a messsage that says I have entered an invalid key. Help.

LG VX8000 Review

Hi Rich, was wondering what your thoughts are on adding a user review section for the LG VX8000? I realize the phone isn't out yet, however, there are people that own the phone and I beleive their opinions would help others in the purchasing decision.

Thank you for your time in reading this post, hope you have a great day.

Search question...

Hello all,

Got a question for you...

I am always searching for phones on here from various carriers. I use the phone finder feature.

One limitation I frequently run into is that there are not enough results from a search. I mean ... I'll end up with 20 results, but certain vendors have many more phones these days... And I cannot do a "View page 2" or anything... Is it possible to bump the number of results up to 30? or 50 ? Or "select your own number"?

Thanks!

New phone

There's a "phone" which ATT/Cingular sells on prepaid service only that's a lot like the T-mobile Sidekick. It's called the OGO, and I have no idea who manufactures it. It offers no voice support but does have unlimited text, IM, and email.

Could you find out the specs on it? This site is one of the few outside phone information sources that my company allows through the firewalls =o). I know currently it's only available from Cingular Blue stores or online.

New Forum Ideao

I think we need a forum for the ongoing GSM-CDMA debate. This might keep it out of other forums.
It would get enough posts.

Is there way to change the configuration of these phones so that they can be used with any service providers as opposed to only VIRGIN MOBILE??? Something like replacing the SIM card. Do these phones have them???

Unlocking a Motorola V600

I would like to know if anyone knows how to unlock the AT&T code in a V600 so it can be used on the Cingular system, with a Cingular SIM card. I have a Blackberry on Cingular and want the freedom of using my previous AT&T phone when I don't need to haul the Blackberry around. Otherwise it's an expensive paperweight
