i thought i saw on here not too long ago that verizon and alltel were going to merge like att and cingular did. wut happened? i think they should really join. they would have the biggest network. they already use each other's towers for roaming...but use cdma, and both use about the same phones. i really hope they do join...that would be great

I'm looking to get Alltel with Mobile web. Is there anyway to use a data cable to access the internet on my laptop using the mobile web service? Their actual pay service for this (wireless highspeed) is soooo limited in locations that I was wondering if I could use the Mobile web instead. Any help would be great!!

The new price plans are on the Alltel site.
No more $35 plan for National Freedom.
Additional lines for $9.95 with plans costing $59.95 or more.
No more unlimited off peak & m2m in the Local plans or the cheapest National plan.
Wonder if Alltel will require a new contract to upgrade your calling plan now? I guess it will depend on what "customer service" rep you get.

Does anybody know about the new rate plans coming out Nov. 3, 2004? I just heard that there is going to be a major change, but you know they don't let us know till Nov. 4, 2004! Please spill the beans!

I heard that it wouldn't be cheap even on 1 or 2 year contracts. appx. $199-299 and varies.
I would only guess that it would be anywhere from 149-179 on 2 year contract and 199-279 on 1 year. An educated guess, but I could be suprised, and/or be way off on price......

Where can I buy an external antenna, that I can pop on the top of my car for better reception. I have a Moto T720 .

someone anyone please respond w/ any info on reprogramming/ flashing specifiacally for any cdma smartphone 😳 . i need to desperate leave Verizon, or any info where i can buy a unprogrammed phone (no carrier software).

I have been an Alltel customer for 9 years. I currently have a Motorola T720, my wife has aMoto V60. Does Alltel offer better phones? If it is a flip phone I really want callerID on the outside of the clam shell. But, I am not grounded to a flip phone,if something is better. I do not want a camera phone, I have a camera for that.

'professional' based markets, wherein people are more apt to buy for office use, etc.
Expensive items don't seem to take to well in my area ☹️

As a rep. for Alltel in central VA
I find that the Kyocera SE44 (slider)
works better than the T720 Motorola.
Sometimes the Moto 720 goes into analog mode
although it registers on first on a digital tower like the others.
I never had an issue with the Nokia
3587i, personally I like it.
However, as a sales rep. I push service/signal
over technology. I'd rather have someone take
a phone I know they can use when needed, especially in our mountainous area.
For some reason, the people that complain the most are the people who never listened to a proffesional sales rep.
But, that's the consumer......for ya.

I like that story of the kiosk experience.

I saw the post below about the new phones in 4Q04. Does anyone know if any of those phones will have bluetooth? I'm just itchin to use the built in bluetooth phone on my car.

I'm seriously considering switching to a GSM carrier if the CDMAs can't put up some better options on phones, despite the fact that GSM coverage is clearly not as good as CDMA here in NC.

Any bluetooth news?

OK when alltel get this phone ,just how much will it cost ,cause we all know that you will have to sing a 2 years service

Our contract with Alltel expires in March. When on the phone with a CSR they told me we could upgrade our phones if we wanted.
Currently my husband & I both have the Motorola T720. My phone works fine but my husband's phone really sucks. I want a different phone & thought my getting another phone & let him have my T720. But after looking at the limited choices I am not so sure I want to extend our contract. My husband really likes the LG 5550 & I do too except for a couple of things. I want a phone that if it doesn't have a camera it will allow me to transfer pictures from computer to the phone. I also want a phone that I can assign ringtones for the callers in my phonebook so I do not have to worry if certain callers call & not have to lo...

I actually have gotten a chance to see the v710 in action for alltel recently. It is the coolest looking phone we're gonna have in the line up i think. some of the operations were still a lilllllll t720ish but oh well. web worked really well and they said its gonna pass testing (or has passed by now). If your looking for the phone thats gonna add pizazz to alltel's already amazing (ha amazing)line up then here's one and the rumor is 6 new phones a new phone released every month. Then they'll merge with verizon (ok maybe not). If anyone has any inside on other phones coming out for alltel please post. Oh didn't get to test blue tooth and he didn't know if they were gonna follow suit like verizon and take some of the features off.

I will be an Alltel employee soon, and wanted to know if anyone else in here works for them also, and where they hail from. Salina, KS myself.

I was just wondering if anyone out there knew anything about being able to apply a mobile to home # to just one line. I am having alot of miscommunication over here about it. does anyone know anything about it?
