I work in a retail location that pretty much dies after dark, so when my phone rings I tend to get pretty excited. Well my phone rang, and I went through my whole "Thank you for calling _____, a _____ authorized retailer. How may I help you" and here is what transpired below. Me = Me, and C = Caller C: I would like to place an order Me: I am sorry, but we have to have you in the store ...

I just bought this phone yesterday, and so far for a semi-entry level phone I love it. I do not get the "Swoosh", but it does have the auto-key lock function which I think is great for a flip phone with side buttons.

Re: driving mode?
Aug 27, 2007, 5:32 PM

It is not in the main settings menu. You have to have the voice command prompt on the screen and use the left soft key for options to get to the feature to turn this off. If you go through the main menu, there is no option to change this setting. I tried for a long time once, and then one of my slaes reps came up and fixed it in a second. Embarrasing Please let me know if ...

It has been a while since I have seen this, but if I remember correctly, while the voice command menu is showing hit the top left soft key for options, and there should be settings where you can turn of the "activate on flip" mode. Hope this helps

Re: Memory Card for BBerry 8830
Jun 19, 2007, 2:14 PM
in the Verizon forum

The 8830 DOES take a SIM card. It is a world phone that operates on CDMA in the US, but is also compatible for GSM roaming using a Vodaphone SIM. From what I have been told, the GSM portion is not able to be unlocked, and because Vodaphone is Vzw's parent company you can only use Vodaphone, and pay exorbanant roaming rates. The one thing that I have not figured out, is where do you get ...

Re: Some more indirect hating

As an indirect manager, what I hate, is every pay period I am fighting for my correct compensation, and my reps correct compensation. In order to motivate sales reps, I still have to act like everything is okay, and that I enjoy working for the company. It is rough when every paycheck is missing something though

I would agree to a point. What you are talking about is some of the agents. I am in management for an inderect, who preaches customer service, professionalism, and honesty. We do everything in our power to keep customers from going to corp. stores, even if it means spending an hour on the phone with customer service to resolve the customers issue. My previous wireless sales positions were in a corp enviroment for a major ...

You must be in the same city as me. I sold a Treo to Yuniesky Betancourt, not a huge celebrity, but a very nice guy. Even though the transaction was done through his translator ( He did not speak a lick of english), He made a point of coming back to my desk and saying thanks in english, even though he was not part of the majority of the conversation. This was about a year ago, and ...

I am in a retail store, and just took a phone call, after I went into my whole thank you for calling speal, the guy on the other line just said "Yes". After about 5 seconds, I said "What can I help you with?", to which he replied "Yes". After this went on about 5 more times he replied "No speak english", I asked " Does someone with you speak english?" He said "Speaka Spanish". I ...

I think "Neuter" is too nice of a word to describe the systems that we use. I used to work for Cingular Corp. Now I work for a VZW indirect. VZW Ripped the testicles out of the system soooo fast that it pulled the spine, intestens, and the splein out with it!

I have had a gentleman named Mohammed Mohammed Mohammed, and a lady named Pippi Pippi. The best though was a prepaid customer with the last name, everybodytalksabout. I thought he was making it up, so I verified ID, and it was legit. A couple months later on the news there was a car crash, where a teenage driver was drunk, and killed someone. The teenagers last name was Everybodytalksabout. I have to assume it was my customers ...

The way I found out is, I used to work in an office where we were supposed to lock our computers any time we left our desk. There was one guy who would sneek into someones cube if they did not lock their computer and do that trick. The first time it happend to me, he did it and left for a meeting. Try it on other computers, most PC's will do it, but it seems that the funcionality has been removed on your call center computers. It does work on the computers in the store I work in.

It should also work with the down arrow, and flip the screen upside down, the best part is that the mouse reacts as the screen looks

I used to sell cars, and my boss would tell me that you were not doing your job if you did not have an occasional customer get pissed off and blow out of the finance office after you closed them. That meant that you were actually selling them, and not taking thier order. I beleive that with cell phones, you are not doing your job as a sales person if you do not have a couple ...

What I dont understand is, how does a customer forget to mention that they changed the sim card back to their old one? What I hate is when you have the bitter ex-wife come into the store. I nicely explain that, in order to separate the account, you have to have your husband call in and release interest in the line. I don't know how many times I have gotten the response " I am not talking to that A#$hole for this" It is not my fault you/he Cheated, stole, or lied to eachother. At what point did it become ...

Re: Dear internet and telesales.
Apr 10, 2007, 1:41 PM
in the Shop Talk forum

Wow, a true salesperson would appreciate the fact that telesales sent them in to the store. It gives you a chance to sell them accessories. How many times does the customer decline accessories over the phone, but comes in to buy a car charger, leather case or a blue-tooth headset? This just gives you an extra opportunity. Also, very rarely does telesales actually correctly provision an account, thus setting the sales rep up for feature sales! ...

First of all, it was a joke about the last state to ratify the ammendment abolishing slavery. Those racist pricks would not ratify it untill 1992! Second, I hope you are not in a customer facing position with any wireless company ( Unless its one of my compettitors) because, obviously your skin is not thick enough! Third, I live in the PNW, but spent 2 years in southern Missouri, which if you are not a geography buff is directly north of ...

I think it will depend on the version of Exchange you are using. I bought an E62 back in September with the intent to set up email over the Exchange server. I think that someone was conspiring against me, because 1 or 2 days after the return period, my work converted to Exchange server 2007, which only allows Windows based devices. I know it was supported for Exchange server 2003, but had not had the chance ...
