Does Sprint provide service on the device?
If you answered yes to that question you have an obligation as a Sprint representative to provide technical/other assistance on the device. Regardless of where the device is purchased it's your job to help the customer.
I don't care about your pity party; really, I don't.
I know there are sometimes seemingly unachievable sales goals, but those goals don't relieve you of your duty to the customer. Balls up and deal with it. You're not providing any real reason a customer ...
Re: Honestly,
A lot of times it's more than just the mail-in rebate being taken off up front.
What you're basically saying is that you care more about sticking it to your customers than them actually receiving a good price on a phone. If you can't treat people with dignity while also maintaining a good conversion rate then you don't need to be in sales.
I really hope OP didn't get sucked in by the garbage you people have been spewing about how ...
Copypasta for you:
"I didn't get commission on the sale so why should I help?!" Get over it.
TEP can be added to any device within 30 days and corporate stores can provide technical assistance on phones bought from a third party.
The point is, Best Buy is only meant to be a 'contract mill' and they do a good job of it. The out of pocket cost on an Epic is going to be at least $100 cheaper at Best Buy.
Do I wish ...
Shane?
I'd love to do that if I wouldn't get fired.
Poor baby.

Honestly,
go to Best Buy. You'll get good pricing and fast, courteous service.
If you go to Radio Shack you'll usually get poor service.
If you go to Sprint you'll get robbed blind.
Once you get your phone, call customer service and have them set up a corp/gov discount for you. Each branch of the military has one available (usually for about 15%).
I work for Sprint, but take my advice and just go to Best Buy. You'll be much happier.
Re: "The last guy hung up on me!"
You know people who have confidence? Shocking. We seem to be a minority, even in sales.

Re: "The last guy hung up on me!"
That is friggin' hilarious.
Sprint honestly isn't making a huge effort to hire the best and brightest.

However what about the situations where it can be done and the rep doesn't want to or is not aware of how to do it.
Again, I say something to the effect of "Thank you so much for your assistance today. I do know that your department is equipped to handle this issue, so please place your supervisor on the line."
Re: "The last guy hung up on me!"
I humiliate them by getting their supervisor on the line.
I love when other reps call me and start telling me how to do my job when they don't have a clue. I know my job better than anyone in this center (that includes sups, quality, and management), so when I say something can't be done it can't be done.
Re: Really Sprint? Really?
For cereal.
I always advise my Nextel customers to ensure they're on Wi-Fi when downloading apps, etc. with the i1. The only real problem with the phone is the iDen data netwo---oh, that's right. iDen doesn't have a data network.
But honestly, it's a great phone. Setting proper expectations for customers is so important. I can't believe so many sales reps neglect to do so.
Re: Really Sprint? Really?
I thought the Motorola i1 for Nextel was released well before the Defy.
Re: My co-worker is currently talking to
Yeah. We found it hilarious.
And I totally made a typo in my first post. Boo.
My co-worker is currently talknig to
Stephanie Ramdass.
Re: I'm convinced...
Sprint has an IVR for their corporate stores that I would think generally weeds that crap out. Guess you don't work for Sprint?
Bows
Thank you. Thank you.
I thought about responding to his most recent attempt...but decided he made himself look childish enough by carrying on after I tried to bring it back on topic. Oh wells. :)
Ask your sup.
I can't post hyperlinks because I can't see the URL in my address bar at work, and I'm not going to waste my home-time helping you do your job.
If it's relevant to your position in telesales/care/wherever then you should ask your supervisor/site management.
Re: I am moving June and looking for a call center??
Because there are no job websites for Vegas, duh.
Obviously the men and women who frequent these forums are the best source of information on all topics. You should know this, Joby.

Are you people stupid??? Do you REALLY think Sprint would accept food stamps??? FOOD STAMPS = FOOD!!!
Stamps = Mail. What's your point?
As was pointed out in the official press release and my original post, they are able to offer this option to customers because of a loophole opened when they started offering phones made from corn-based bio-plastic.
Re: Acronimize
I always considered myself an acronympho.
It's for real.
I know of a couple managers in our district that have already been terminated because they decided they weren't going to follow the policy.
Re: $15 "promotional" data plan...
Same thing with Sprint. Makes ESN swaps a needless hassle.
Sure.
Pay MSRP.
Re: Phantom mullet how did it go?
I was actually right behind your mother. Wasn't the first time either...
Funny thing, she accepts food stamps as payment too.
Anyway, it's a cool program Sprint has set up for their lower income consumers. I think we can all agree that more options for consumers is a good thing.
Re: Sprint to Start Accepting Food Stamps
Should be floating around newsroom.sprint.com somewhere.

Re: Sprint to Start Accepting Food Stamps
Corporate stores should be able to take payments in the form of food stamps, yes.
Third-parties probably won't be able to at this time.
Re: Sprint to Start Accepting Food Stamps
But it's helping people in need. The poor and lazy deserve to be able to update Facebook from their mobile device just as much as you or I.
This.
And you can only 'resurrect' the line within 45 days of canceling it.
Re: Sprint to Start Accepting Food Stamps
Why will they be disappointed? Have more babies, get more food stamps, pay your cell bill!
Re: Question for sales reps
It seems pretty excessive. As a consumer I'd be pissed.
Our outbound reps have 'campaigns' where they basically call through a very long list of customers on an automated dialer. The campaign changes every couple months with different targets and offers, but each customer will probably be hit 3 or more times in a single campaign.
But customers do always have the option to request that you not call them again (usually takes a week to update in dialers though) if ...
Re: My wife used to work at an American Eagle store
Yeah, apparently AE has a 'non-prosecution' policy or something stupid that basically means the company won't press charges against anyone for attempted theft, ****ting on coats, causing a disturbance...really anything.
My wife used to work at an American Eagle store
and a customer wanted to use their restroom. They don't have a public restroom, and that's what the employees told her...so the chick grabs a couple shirts/pants and goes into a dressing room then shts all over the merchandise.
Re: I noticed that when I came to work today.
But it's closing the price gap. What has Sprint been advertising for the past three years? Low prices!
While Sprint is still (barely) cheaper than it's biggest competitors, the price hike does give customers another reason to go with a more reliable carrier with better services. *cough* Verizon. *cough*
Just cancel your service.
No major postpaid carrier is going to give you a high quality phone and plan to suit your requests.
I'm pretty sure you can get a basic TracFone in Wal-Mart for about 20 bucks and the monthly cost will probably be about what you're currently paying.
Re: Duh
The fifty dollars includes the Premium data charge.
If you can't afford it then look into a phone you can afford. Don't cry to retentions because you don't make enough money to live luxuriously.
Duh
I understand how SERO plans work. I'm handling one right now.
What I'm saying is that you have the option to pay $50 a month (which is not double your current bill, genius) and get a great device at promotional price or you can pay $80 a month and get the same phone for free.
Why is this even a retentions issue? Because you're greedy.
Pretty much.
I laughed when I heard about this change. It seems kinda cheeky to me.
Hopefully they'll change the names of the plans so I don't have to hear any more "I'm on an EVERYTHING plan!!"
We could call it a "You'll **** Gold" plan and I still wouldn't suggest you sift through your stool.
