I still feel like im paying the full price of the phone when i upgrade through them. Their customer service is top notch which i wouldn't want to leave either. I am now off contract with T-mobile. This maybe just what it will take to get me to move over to cingular, that is if cingular is good in my area and they are offering it at a reasonable price, if not i may have to wait for the much desired K700 for T-Mobile.

If it is coming from any provider it will be locked to that provider. That is how you get the subsidized prices on the phones.

You can buy a brand new K700 for a premium price on Ebay from Powersellers. The prices ranged from 380(with a few hours left to go) up to 600(as a buy now). There was one at 400 with less than an hour to go. I may have paid for that if i had the capital b/c my S105 is sure getting crappy. Ext. screen keeps going out on me.

there are other 1MP phones coming out or are already out like the sharp GX-30 which also has bluetooth. Buth yes, this phone is sexy. Nice business look and features. I think i would rather have the K700 even though it has no MP camera.
when is the new hiptop coming out?
In the featured article about 3GSM 2004, the new Hiptop was discussed. I went to Gizmodo and saw some pictures that were taken secretly and the new unit looks awesome. It was also stated that we would be hearing more from Danger w/ more surprises in 1-2 months. Just wondering when we might hear from them seeing as it has been more than 2 months.

This phone i really hope will come to the states. T-mobile doesn't really have a whole bunch of exciting phones. This could change that a little bit and when the Nokia 7600 comes out they should carry that one as well.

It will only happen if SE makes a K700a for the 850 band. The K700i has a 1900 band so yes it is possible for T-mobile to get this one. And i really hope that they do b/c i really want this phone.

K700 is smokin hot. Best lookin mobile in my opinion and smart too. Though i also like the S700 as you can have 1.3MP pictures with that phone. Wow this is really great. Now i have to wait though till next quarter to get my hands on one of these gorgeous phones.

I really like what i have seen of this phone. And there is 3DJava! Saw a demo of a tennis game and it looked awesome and i hate tennis. Go to sonyericsson's website and it has a whole flash presentation of this phone.

Hot Phones
Really nice phones, at least thats what i think of when i see the potential for these phones. I think if Motorola can get these out on time, they may just redeem their lateness in the arrival of the V600. Great features like bluetooth and "hi-fi" music/sounds and the ability to use memory cards should help sell these mediacentric phones.

This is with out a doubt the ugliest form factor for a phone that i have ever seen. Yuck! Disgusting! I would much rather wait for the 6620 that will inevitably come out for AT&T or Cingular to take advantage of the EDGE data rates. Much nicer phone as well.
UMTS
Could there be a jump straight to UMTS instead of stopping at EDGE and then upgrading agian to UMTS? I was told in my question about 3G that the step up to EDGE wouldnt be beneficial so why not stay out of the market until they have the next step for other companies to beat them to the punch and try to implimate the higher data rate that UMTS provides?

Why is it that whenever there is cool phone to hit the market it has to go to the rest of the world but not here. Oh well by the time it does come here, hoping that it does, i will be ready for my; next phone seeing as i want the t630 now.

Went into a AT&T wireless store that had live demos and i tried their phones mMode and it seemed to respond quicker even for phones not using the EDGE technology. It was nice. What is the difference btw the two? Look to be the same stats. is there something im missing?

Does anyone know when TMO will be heading towards implimenting 3G in a possible EDGE form? I know that At&t/Cingular are coming out with EDGE and will be upgrading to UMTS in the near future. I havent heard a peep from what TMO will be doing. Anyone know?

Nice stylish flip phone. A nice 260,000 color High Res. screen (gx-30) and must be active matrix TFT. Symbian OS, 1.3mp camera w/ video clip capable. MMS, 64 chord polyphonics and mp3 player. SD or miniSD external card slot none of that BS that Nokia does w/ the under the battery crap. Needs to have Bluetooth and a high speed network like Verzions 1xrtt or EDGE and must be full of useful easy to use ...

this point is moronic. So what if the phone costs more w/ TMO. If you dont like the service or what not, you are able to move on after that 1st year. W/ Cingular, you are more likely gonna spend more than the difference in cost between similar phones carried by TMO and Cingular in service fees. Most deals require a 39.99 a month deal to get the phone at that price anyways.

Motorola is a funny company. They come out with a semi good phone VERY late in the V600 but offer a very nice feature rich handset in this V878 for the Asian market that is expected out in the same quarter as the V600. God i hate Motorola.
