Why not on Verizon?
I find it strange that this feature will be enabled on Window mobile phones on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile but not Verizon. Does anyone know why?
Re: 5-12mbps real world for 4G proves that 3G never did live up to it's potential.
I agree with Jayshmay. If LTE 4g speeds are not SIGNIFICANTLY faster than 3g than I see no reason to upgrading. The 3g speeds I get from Verizon are fast enough for my needs.
Re: Why are you all acting so surprised???
Since a data plan is not required to use VZ Navaigator it is a good deal for those with simple feature phones.
Re: Touch Pro 2
Wow that is surprising. Considering this may be T-Mobile's best phone, the lack of advertisting is disappointing.
Touch Pro 2
I had read a while back that T-Mobile is coming out with this phone on August 12. However I have not heard much about it since. It does not even show up on T-Mobile's website yet. Does anyone have any updated information on the release date or pricing?
Re: HTC Ozone number lock
Not sure if you found an answer to your question yet. However if you press the "FN" key twice it lock numbers on. Pressing "FN" key once takes off the number lock.
Blackberry 8330 Voice Search
I had problems getting this to work on my Verizon Blackberry 8330. It started working after I turned off location and enabled voice search from the left side convenience key in the Google Mobile App option menu. Great for searching for information while driving or on the go.
Re: "MetroFLASH"
You should go to a Metropcs service center in Miami to get your phone flashed. Since this is a new service, most authorized dealers would not offer this service yet. Plus, only a few staff members in the service centers will be trained to flash phones.
Re: Google Text
Google text will not work on T-Mobile prepaid or Flexpay accounts. Only on postpaid accounts.
Re: T-mobile Pearl Question
How much are you spending on your monthly bill? If you want to save $200 quickly, you need to change to the lowest plan T-Mobile offers and remove any add on services. By the way, which company were you going to?
Re: what is the purpose
If competition with Metropcs was the main motivation for creating Unlimited by Boost, what's the purpose of raising prices higher than Metropcs?
Re: Verizon wants all phones.
AT&T and Apple have an agreement for the iPhone to only be on AT&T's network for 5 years.
Re: Blackberry sim card?
There is no Blackberry specific sim card. A Blackberry plan will need to be set up on a sim card to enable Blackberry features like email and internet.
Re: Question
From what I've read, Verizon has an exclusive deal with DC Metro subways to be the only wireless service. I'm not sure when the contract expires. As far as who has better coverage between AT&T and Verizon, it all depends on where you live.
Re: No Contract
I live in south Florida. Broward County, 33069
Re: No Contract
Why are there still AT&T cor stores still saying that the only way to get service without a contract is only through prepaid? I called two stores today and got that answer. One I called the other day said I was not required to sign a contract to obtain regular service. It's frustrating because I want to sign up for the zero month contract. Maybe they don't know the new policy.
Re: No Contract
I just called an AT&T cor store, and the manager said that if I brought my own phone, I would still need to sign a one year contract!!! This is unreal. He did not even know about this policy. However, I called another store and the guy there said I can get service without the contract.
Re: No Contract
So is this similar to what Tmobile does with Flexpay? With them, a person can get the same plan as those with a contract. They just need to pay up front for the service.
Re: No Contract
Getting 450 or 900 minutes without M2M or nights and weekends works for me. Can I also add a text message plan going month-to-month?
No Contract
I read on an AT&T press release that a person could obtain service without signing a contract:
Buy a phone at full price and go on a month-to-month service plan.
Bring your own compatible GSM device. With this option, you can buy a SIM (subscriber identity module), slip it into the back of the phone, and select a month-to-month service plan.
Choose one of AT&T's GoPhone prepaid wireless plans.
However, I recently called AT&T customer service to ask about this. ...
Re: service
Go on T-Mobile's website and type in your zip code to see if they service your area. If their coverage in your area is strong, then the call quality will be great.
Re: Contract or not?
Thank you for the information.
Contract or not?
I bought an LG VX-8300. I would like to get it activated. Do I need to sign a contract? The reason I ask is because I heard that if a person buys their own phone then they're not required to sign a contract. Is this correct?
Re: Unlimited by Boost vs. Metropcs
I live in south Florida, and Metropcs has been here for about 7 years. So they have a deep footprint in the area. I know from having both services that Boost Unlimited is clearly much better. Using Sprint's network, there's greater reception indoors and less chance of dropped calls. However, people I know are drawn to Metropcs because of the wide handset selection they offer. If Boost Unlimited sticks around a while, their reputation would have a chance to ...
Unlimited by Boost vs. Metropcs
Does anyone know how many subscribers Boost Mobile has picked up in the areas where they are in direct competition with Metopcs?
Re: Is Boost Mobile Coverage any good?
Unlimited by Boost uses the same service that Sprint subscribers do, without the contract. I would recommend buying the Motorola w385. I had the Motorola c290, and it was not very good because of the short battery life. Only a $30 difference, but the w385 has a lot more features and better performance. Having unlimited talking and texting for only $45 using Sprint's service is the best deal out there. Especially if you make most of your calls from ...
Re: This is good news!
This is unbelievable! Unlimited minutes were only offered by regional carriers like Metropcs and Cricket. I think Sprint offering unlimited minutes through their Boost prepaid service convinced Verizon to jump into that lucrative market. Who's next? AT&T? T-Mobile?
Why do I need a contract?
Just activated my Unlimited by Boost phone in south Florida. $50 for unlimited minutes and text, $0.15 per minute talking outside calling area, and nationwide coverage. On Nov. 12, $5 for unlimited internet and $5 for expanded calling area (meaning you can use unlimited minutes anywhere in Florida!). For a deal like this, why would anyone need a contract with any of the major carriers?
Re: GSM phones
only gsm phones that are unlocked (meaning not locked into any gsm provider) or tmobile branded will work on tmobile's network.
Re: Unlimited by Boost
I think it is an awsome idea. But, will this hurt Sprint's post pay business? Especially for people who make most of their calls within their calling area. $50 for unlimited minutes is pretty sweet.
Unlimited by Boost
In the markets that Boost Mobile will compete with Metropcs with unlimited plans, I believe Boost will win. Unlimited talk, text, and data on Sprint's network is more superior to Metropcs's network.
Re: Call quality differences between T-Mobile and At&t
Do you live in south Florida? If you don't, then how would you know what call quality and coverage is like here? Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach are heavily populated counties with coverage from the four major networks and Metropcs. I've already mentioned how I rank the major four in terms of call quality. Metropcs's call quality would be number five on that list. This is my experience using all five of these networks.
Re: Call quality differences between T-Mobile and At&t
Nextel18, why can't you believe that I experience a better call quality with T-Mobile's service than with At&t? I know At&t has more coverage nationwide. I don't dispute that. However, I can only judge the coverage in south Florida. T-Mobile's coverage is very strong down here. Like I mentioned before, their call quality is similar to Verizon's. If I was to rank the major four companies based solely on call quality in the south Florida area, it would be ...
Re: Call quality differences between T-Mobile and At&t
That was my point exactly. I know At&t has more coverage nationwide. However, the call quality from my T-Mobile phone (Rizr Z3) is noticeably clearer and louder than when I'm using the At&t network. Also, I've used an unlocked Razr V3 on both networks, and I can clearly hear a difference in the sound quality.
Call quality differences between T-Mobile and At&t
When I changed cell providers from At&t to T-Mobile, I noticed a big difference in the call quality. Call volume was louder and much clearer. No distortion. Call quality was similar to Verizon's. I live in south Florida. Does T-Mobile and At&t use different technology even though they are both GSM?
Re: Verizon Rejects Abortion Rights Group’s Messages
Signing up for this group's text messages would have been voluntary. You needed to send a short code to them. Same as signing up to Weather.com. A person could cancel at any time. I honestly don't see why Verizon rejected this group. Freedom of speech and activism is what America is all about.
Re: Verizon's call quality
Rich, are there any cell phone companies currently using LTE?
Re: Verizon's call quality
So, Verizon's call quality will become more clear with OFDM/A?
Verizon's call quality
Verizon is well known for having the best call quality in the US. Will a move to GSM make Verizon's call quality simiar to At&t's?
