I've used both, and the 8525 is better, has 3g downloads, and doesn't show that you have greasy fingers.

Altough Nextel uses sim cards, it's on the IDEN network and won't work with at&t.

For sending pics, vids, songs and ringtones to another phone, and vice versa. It works the same as bluetooth.
