Pharos Traveler 137 -- unlocking

Hello all,

I purchased a Pharos Traveler 137 off eBay with the intention of using it with my Telus service. However... I had the misfortune of getting the only version of the phone that is SIM locked... the CBW one.

And that's where things get sticky. I contacted CBW several times to try and obtain the code, but they basically told me to piss off and that they wouldn't supply me the code. I also contacted Pharos to see if they would have more luck than I did getting the code from CBW, but that was futile as well.

Third-party unlocking options are pretty much inexistent for this phone because of it's rarity, and the SIM unlocking attachments also didn't help.

I brought the phone to a place in my town that supposedly specialize i...

Do all WM phones suck??

I've owned a treo 700w, and a samsung i-730 both on Verizon's network.

I have to start everyday with a soft reset, 30% plus calls take 2-4 tries to complete or another soft reset. I've been interupted so many @$#%#$^ times when I'm dialing a number and the phone has to tell me I have messages waiting or missed an appointment after which I have to start dialing again. I truely miss having voice recognition that works. It's always nice finding out 3 days to a week afterwards that someone left me a voice mail.

I don't run much of any 3rd party apps. My wife now uses my old i-730 without any apps and it still does the same things driving her totally nuts.

The voicemail and dropped/no calls I blame on Verizon's poor coverage ar...

Network analyzer application, can anyone recommend any?

Our company uses Windows Mobile Professional 5.0 and 6.5.1 devices in the field for our technicians who install and service computer networks and systems.

We are looking for a utility that can do more than the basic ping, ipsweep, tracert etc.

Can anyone recommend Windows Mobile network utilities we can evaluate?

sms notification frozen in touchflo 3d dock.

My HTC imagio currently has a sms notification frozen on the chat icon in the touchflo 3d dock. i have tried deleting all my texts and doing a soft reset. Also when i turn touchflo3d off normal windows mobile 6.5 does not show the 1 new text message icon. I really enjoy using touchflo 3d is there any way that i can get rid of the notification without doing a hard reset?

Any RSS Reader for my Pocket PC?

Dear all,

I am running a Samsung i780 with WM6.1. I'd like to be able to read some RSS feeds, and have had some success in the past in using the
free pRSSreader. That worked really well, but there is a feature missing that I would really like to have. I'm hoping that someone here might be able to recommend a suitable reader.

The problem with pRSSreader, was that I'd read postings that I thought were interesting and then flag them to read later. However, the program wouldn't keep them for later - instead it would ditch all the postings irrespective of whether they had been flagged or not.

So I'd like a way to either make a favorite posting list or save postings that I think are interesting, so I can read through them again at a late...

WinMo7 said to have multitouch. . .

This probably won't reach the market til the Touch Pro3, just my guess. But WinMo7 certainly seems to be shaping up to be interesting.

Why WinMo is in trouble...

All I have to say is I'm there are more choices when it comes to mobile OS's than there are on the desktop. And there are applications being made for each platform with RIM announcing they're own app store and Android Marketplace to support they're perspective OS's.

Do EXACTLY what it tells you to and it will work. This is designed for the HTC Wizard and its American versions: The Cingular 8125 and the T-Mobile MDA.

IPAQ 910 AND MAPOPOLIS

My old Ipaq 6945 also had GPS. With some slight modification I was able to use the map program called Mapopolis. The company has gone out of business and my 6945 shorted out with something looking like a steak of lightning across the touch screen.

Does anyone happen to know if the program Mapopolis will work with the new Ipaq 910. I have already ordered it and and don't want to have to buy new maps.

Boy would any help here be welcome and deeply appreciated.

Verizon Wireless XV6800 GPS - Google Maps???

I have the HTC XV6800 with Verizon Wireless. I must say I love the phone except that I am unable to use "My Location" or GPS when using Google Maps. I know other carriers allow you to use google maps and can get a pretty good range on your location. Is there a way that I can use Google Maps AND have the phone show me my location?? I would love to use it when driving when I get lost =P

Thank you in advance for your help! Sorry if this is an easy/silly questions!!

Looking for phone&carrier that enables surfing while on a call

Hi All,

I'm looking for a powerful Windows Mobile device that will allow me to surf the web while talking on the phone (speakerphone and/or bluetooth headset).

What phone/carrier options do I have?

Suggestions?

I can't seem to find a phone that enables simultaneous web surfing and cell phone talking.

Thanks
