Magnify the Size of Your PDA's On-Screen Keyboard with Phraze-It Software
Howdy All,
My name is Al Sacco and I'm a writer with CIO.com. I recently reviewed the Phraze-It 2.0 Keyboard software for Windows Mobile Pocket PCs from Prevalent Devices, and I thought you all might be interested in the article.
Phraze-It basically makes it easier to type e-mail and documents on-screen using your fingers or thumbs to do away with your stylus. It works quite well for finger typing, but it's not perfect. It is worth checking out, though.

Verizon Windows Based Phones
Does anyone know if any new models are due out in the near term? I keep reading about the VX6800, but, I wonder if this phone will ever make it to the market because of the delay after delay.
Thanks in advance for your input.

Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC Upgrade
After doing research it turns out that my Siemens SX56 with AT&T Wireless may roll it out soon (1st Quarter 2004), but can't confirm a date yet. T-Mobile allegedly will also release the upgrade soon, but no set date known either.
The new 2003 Pocket PC OS (which by now should be 2004) is very nice. I hope AT&T and T-Mobile actually offer it soon, everybody else is starting to offer the upgrade on www.pocketpc.com.
i-mate JAM or Qtek 9100: Which to buy?
I have the opportunity to purchase one of 2 used devices. One is the i-mate JAM 850, the other a Qtek 9100(K-Jam). The Qtek has the keyboard, integrated wifi, better bluetooth, 128 MB Rom and Windows Mobile 5, but a slower 200 mhz processor. The i-mate JAM on the other hand has the 416MHz processor, and will have a wifi+256 mb card, and a Copilot Live GPS system included. I like the idea of the keyboard on the Qtek 9100, not sure how much easier it would be with it as I have not used one. The things I am most concerned about is issues people have had with playing videos, using Skype and slowness with the system on the Qtek. I like the fact that the JAM has the faster processor, is a bit thinner and includes the GPS but I am conc...

why does voice quality suck on the 700wx with sprint?
well, heres the deal
iv had a 700w with verizon for about 6 months..works awsome, voice quality is great and the speaker is loud
i work for sprint and just got a 700wx setup on an employee plan, i got the 700wx off someone...when i got it running voice quality sucked and speaker was probably half as loud as that of my verizon. i went into a corp store and they replaced it with a brand new one...same problem!
am i having bad luck?
or does the 700wx just suck voice quality wise, and i should get a 700p or wait for the new 750 series to come out..
id really like to keep the sprint phone..evdo is twice as fast as verizons..and obviously the killer employee plan...

Viewing Options for Contact List
I have a new 8525, and sync'ed it with my outlook. Everything worked great, except for two issues.
1) How can I just view JUST my outlook contacts, and not view my SIM contacts as well. The only option I have seen so far is to just delete all the SIM contacts which I don't want to do!!
2) I created a folder underneath my normal Contacts folder in Outlook to hold all of my work related contacts. Now when I sync my phone, it syncs all the regular contacts fine, but won't sync the "Work Contacts" folder. Any ideas?
Thanks everyone for the help!!!

Windows Mobile based phones have great abilities for communication, productivity, entertainment. But more complex devices are harder to use. Most users while switching from regular cellular phones to PDA-phones notice that PDAs are harder to control when things come to simple phone tasks, like one hand operation, making calls from a phonebook and so on. For example, to write a new text message on the Windows Mobile phone you have to start Messaging application and tap “New” button. At the same time, there is a “New Message” item in every simple cellular phone’s

Cingular 8525: Direct Push works with GPRS/EDGE, but NOT UMTS
I have an older MediaWorks $20 plan that connects to the wap.cingular server. (I thought I used to connect to isp.cingular with an older phone, but it doesn't let me connect now.)
I'm happy that Direct Push works with my "cheaper" data plan...in fact, I receive my exchange email on my phone faster than it'll show up in my Outlook Inbox. But it's annoying to lose Direct Push when I travel to an area with UMTS...I must manually send/receive to retrieve new messages. I don't want to call Cingular about the "problem) because I suspect they might try to force me to upgrade to a more pricey data plan (simply becaus...
