It will read 4GB out of box, but it depends on what brand. Sandisk ecrypts something in their memory cards that prohibits some of the phones from recognizing larger than 2GB. For instance the lgcu500 will only read a 1GB sandisk however the 2GB transcend card will work fine in it. My 8525 reads a 16Gb no-name brand that i got from Taiwan. I had to send it to a windows mobile specialist to have it modified to read 16GB of memory. If you like to rip DVDs and watch them on your phone this is the perfect way to do it.
