Picture/video mail= MMS... ๐Ÿคจ

What exactly is a waste of time about it? You select the picture, press send, choose recipient, press confirm or whatever and away it goes. If it's a non-evdo phone it takes it a few seconds to send, but it's nothing big. If it's an evdo phone it uploads in the background.

I guess I'm a little disgruntled that I have to pay for data to send the picture and the receiver needs to spend 'waste time' using their phone's browser to be charged data to receive the photo. GSM phones don't have that problem. The picture just shows up in the message. Not sure about Verizon. Am I missing something or is Sprint in effect double charging?

Verizon delivers the picture to your phone when you open the MMS message.

Is it necessary for the phone to connect to the internet to get the message or is it embedded? I'm trying to figure out if it is a fundamental difference between CDMA and GSM or if Sprint is just retarded.

It just arrives there on my wife's Verizon Blackberry and on her RAZR as well as on my Verizon KRZR. You open the message just like you are viewing a text message except it has a picture attached. Sometimes I also attach music or sounds to it.

On my employer provided Sprint Blackberry, I have to go to the "You've got a picture" web site to get my pics as you described so perhaps it is the way Sprint chooses to deliver the messages.

I hated picture mail; especially because I had a smartphone, which had no picture mail on it.
