IR on 6800
What is IR good for on the 6800. It has wifi and bluetooth and I have not seen a computer with IR on it......is there some software to make it a remote for appliances..tv,stero garage door? Thanks

For sending pics, vids, songs and ringtones to another phone, and vice versa. It works the same as bluetooth.

If you are referring to the XV6800, it does not have IR. The "beam" feature is via BT.

I sit corrected. The XV6800 does have Infrared. Apparently, my head was wedged where it ought not be when I made that post.

It DOES have IR-I used it to transfer a Microsoft Exchange Server certificate from an old Treo to the 6800, so I could get my corporate email. Works best for transfering info between phones, If another phone has IR, you can transfer your business card electronically.
