vzw phone records for sale?
What is vzw policy and means of securing cell phone records? Are the call logs for sale (financial records are already protected)?
Has there been any cell hone log releases of this type?

ultimate phone skin solution
I just heard about this provider of custom skins for any portable electronic device including phones. I have not ordered one but the skin options are unlimited. I am thinking of ordering one for my nephew to have a picture of his son in utero while he is in Iraq.
The skin material sounds as if it woould also protect the phone a bit (certainly from scratches). I only checked out teh price for moto phones and ...
pix place poorly organized
About two months ago I registered at pix place and began to receive and send messages through the site. It was fairly intuitive so I did not have to read any manuals. Now I come to learn that messages I had sent from the site are deleted after 7 days. The verizon rep I called took 15 minutes to learn this fact and also said that the site is not easy to learn its nuances.
We both ...
Re: USA Wireless Calling Surpasses Wireline Calling
Yes this is a trend for some time. Colorado in fact has about 60% 911 calls coming in from wireless. The problem is multifold under this scenerio. The call may not go through, it may get disconnected midcall, they may not be able to understand your speech, or the 911 call center may not be able to identify where you are located if you can not tell them.
Obviously if you do not have a choice ...

Re: not a particularly useful strategy to grow a company and customer base
unresolved is very different as you described it then no response. the BBB does not kick a firm out if they have a different opinion then the customer or the firm follows their written policy.
the issue was that Cingular ignored the customer complaints. typically the BBB will receive a complaint from someone and forward that complaint to the firm contact. with large firm their will be a liason set up with the BBB. If the ...
Re: not a particularly useful strategy to grow a company and customer base
that is not the issue. the issue is continous improvement for any enterprise. It is arrogant to not respond to concerns of customers. I have no beef with cingular personally and no experience with them but if I was shopping for a provider I would be very concerned hearing this news. It would be no different thatn looking for a constructon contractor. suppose you learn the contractor is less expensive but there were credible ...
carriers network rolls back phase II to phase I
In Denver a carrier's modification of their network for unrelated changes disenabled phase two compliance and rolled compliance back to phase one for many months.
this was a known issue and told to the local authoritities ahead of time. The fact is that this can happen with any carrier and not to assume that phase to is current on any particular day.
check your local situation
In colorado the e911 system did not exist 10 years ago and only recently came online in some of the smaller municipalities. This is referring to land lines.
The state's emergency management does not coordinate 911 in Colorado or really have anything to do with the emergency centers receiving the calls. They are all locally controlled and coordinated.
The funds collected via the tarrif does go to the PSAP but can be used for a variety ...
Re: not a particularly useful strategy to grow a company and customer base
the twenty may have initiated the complaints but everyone is listening to the twenty. As every business knows that there is a multiplier for every customer you hear from there are many more with the same type of praise or complaint.
Re: Need help erasing pics stored to phone

and then they wonder whythey get so many calls to customer support.
Re: Clock frequently off by 4 hours??
check to determine if anyone else on the VZW network is having a problem when using your local tower. If they are then you can be assured it is the tower and then you can both complain to the executive office.

Redundancy is key to safety. I think every community should have multiple strategies in place.

Re: who cares?
the BBB keeps track of the number of complaints for each firm but the critical issue is here Cingular did not even respond to the complaints. The BBB appreciates that any large firm particularly those int his industry will receive a larger number of complaints then anyother small firm. They take that into account.
Last year I was part of a committee that awarded the BBB "Torch Award" for high ethics for local businesses. Our nomination went ...

Cingular Expelled From Local BBB -see phonescoop news article
As someone whoe's business is managing conflict I am amazed that a firm this large would not have a policy in place to at least respond to complaints let alone to handle them well.

Re: programming suggestion for VZW
its a curious thing. VZW is always reminding folks and suggesting that it be done once per month yet per the previous posters comments, if everyone actually followed VZW advice they could not handle the traffic. I assume that would be true even if VZW handsets were programmed to update on a signal from VZW when traffic was lower and the phone was not in use by its user.

Eric:
thanks for the e911 piece. it was very useful and informative. I am currently doing additional research on the status locally in Colorado. I may in fact be able to get coverage in a prominant local weekly newspaper.
You mentioned that some of the funds have been diverted from psap development. I had contacted the local NENA chapter president and she says not in CO. she stated they have received all money they were supposed to. ...

Re: Do I have a bad camera on my E815?
the pics from my 815 are actually quite good considering they come from a phone. the video is not nearly as good. Obviously you do not have much flexibility in creating the photoe image but when taken properly they are very enjoyable of my 2 year old son.

Re: New Phones - Or, How Long Must I Wait For Something Decent
my particular phone is very solid. I come from using a startac which was a workhorse.
I have experience with some engineering although not in the phone industry and I will state that rigid components is not always better in the long haul. I will also state that my 815 does not have a lot of flex in the build as I had read.
I am not in the business so I have no dog in the fight. ...

Re: New Phones - Or, How Long Must I Wait For Something Decent
my 815 is working fine. If you had one that did not work well you should have swaped it out for another. the model in general is very good. I had the 8100 for one week before the 815.
Re: Network or Phone Issue?
I would not waste any time and replace the phone with another e815. My 815 works great as obviously do most of them out there (based on reviews and the forum). Your 815 is still under the first year warranty - take advantage of it. the sooner you trade it in for another the better chance you have of receiving a brand new one versus a refurbished one (not that this wold necessarily be a problem).
Re: Is every call center poorly mismanaged?
I think there is a good argument they could offer that the protocol is similar to expecting someone working at Mcdonalds to bein uniform and at their station when their shift starts. Another example is that you need to clock in right at your start time.
What is the policy regarding clocking out. If you completely log out on the clock then isn't it a wash? If you were supposed to work till 9PM and begin clocking ...
