Buying a Verizon Phone From a Third Party?

ok so circuit city and other authorized dealers in new york city all sell verizon phones significantly cheaper then verizon stores themselves. i'll be switching from at& t into a verizon one year agreement when i buy the phone. by buying from a ciruit city what is lost than if i bought from verizon. the idea of a verizon store repairing a broken phone or switching it out for one that works the same day is amazing. employees at third party stores all tell me yeah if it breaks after the first month just bring to a verizon store and your good. a few verizon employees agreed but most say not. they'll only work on phones purchased directly. beyond that are their separate contracts btw verizon and me and me and the third party dealer? and lastly a...

How to get rid of annoying Verizon blinker: CDM8600.

Menu > Settings > System > NAM Set > Auto NAM > Set to yes (6-4-3-1-yes).

This works only as long as your phone is on, once you power off then on again, the setting is lost. Setting this to "Auto NAM" should not have any side effects.

For those who don't know what NAM is:

Number Assignment Module. The NAM is the electronic memory in the wireless phone that stores the telephone number and an electronic serial number.

need new phone, help

I currently have the lg vx4400, not a bad phone but I need a change. The vibration feature is terrible. I miss a lot of calls because of it. Due to my job I can't let it ring either because I will never hear it. The reception is not bad, but I need a better phone. I realize this is a loaded question, but any suggestions would be great. Thanks alot.

New Nokias?

Does anyone know of any high end Nokias coming out for Verizon anytime soon? I had my hopes up for the 6225 (Sprint, US Cellular) or the 6585 (again, US Cellular), but it looks like it's not to be? Anyone out there hear anything different? Let me know. Thanks.

Is it true LG vx7000 is cancelled.

Ubaid1 said:
Don't hold this as gospel, but I talked to a VZW rep in this store, and he said there is not going to be a vx7000 for verizon wireless, and they are skipping it to go directly to the 8000 and that the 810 should be released soon. (Don't know what that means).

I read this on a thread in the LG 7000 forum. I don't know if this is true, and I wanted to find out if it was true or not. So anyone who's a dealer or has incite on this rumor could you please clarify everyone on this. Thank You!!

Samsung I700 versus Kyocera 7135??? Need help/opinions!!!

What is everyone's opinion of the above two phones? I like the fact that the 7135 is tri-mode and that it is like a phone and can fold up and go in my pocket. The Samsung has the windows style that would be nice to work with, but is only dual mode. I travel a lot and often in places most phones don't work. I have a tri-mode LG currently and it works everywhere I have to go for work, but lacks the PDA functionality.
If anyone has any first hand experience with the phones please help. Verizon will only allow me to try one phone out for 15 days so I have no basis for comparison.
Thanks 😕

Battery Performance in Analog

Hi. I posted this thread elsewhere but didn't get the response that I need. I want to know if anyone has this problem with any other Verizon phones.

I have a Kyocera 2235 which I don't like for one main reason. The battery can still die and shut off the phone even when the phone is plugged into the wall. WTF... This happens when making analog calls from my rural area and this phone has horrid battery performance in analog.

Can anyone tell me if other CDMA (Verizon) phones have a better reputation concerning this. Obviously I need great RF in the Analog spectrum. I was seeing that Nokias are good for this. Motos?

This battery problem is the one reason I am paying MCI 60 bucks a month for long distance phone calls. HELPPPP!!!!!

Verizon coming to Wilmington North Carolina?

I hear Verizon has decided to come to Wilmingotn NC. I understand it will be a new corporate office and am I asuming correctly that they will be providing service to the area as well? I recently moved from Connecticut and am still using my Verizon service from there. The only diference is my V60 displays "Extended Area", not a roaming charge. The only problem I have is the voicemail icon does not pop up when I get a new voicemail.
Will they be opening up Verizon stores in town too? Any thoughts on expected dates?

Hoping to get some clarifications

Hey i've been reading on the forum for a long time now and have some pretty basic questions i think...i've had an old lg tm-510 i think it's tm. i know it's 510 and i need a new phone so i've been reading here forever and there is so much info i think i'm getting lost in at all.

if my lg had an alphabetized phone book i would never really want a new phone, but it doesn't so here goes.

i would love a phone, with voice dialing, no camera needed, a long long battery life, a huge phone book, not too big, flip phone, tri mode, good text messaging ability, and that's about it for must haves.

i would love to be able to use the phone to connect to my laptop and access the internet using my aol dial up account and venison wireless minutes......
