Battery Performance in Analog

Hi. I posted this thread elsewhere but didn't get the response that I need. I want to know if anyone has this problem with any other Verizon phones.

I have a Kyocera 2235 which I don't like for one main reason. The battery can still die and shut off the phone even when the phone is plugged into the wall. WTF... This happens when making analog calls from my rural area and this phone has horrid battery performance in analog.

Can anyone tell me if other CDMA (Verizon) phones have a better reputation concerning this. Obviously I need great RF in the Analog spectrum. I was seeing that Nokias are good for this. Motos?

This battery problem is the one reason I am paying MCI 60 bucks a month for long distance phone calls. HELPPPP!!!!!

I think all phones will drain battery like mad in analog. There's really no way around it- however, the Nokia that VZW currently carries has a decent battery and would probably be your best bet in this situation.

I don't see how your phone turns off while the charger is plugged to your phone. It shouldn't do that. I have had some incidents with this same phone cutting off for no reason. The phones battery may be loose. I put some paper in the back of my phone where the battery was and it stopped cutting off. That may be problem for you. Other than that you phone shouldn't be cutting off while the charger plugged in. If so, your phone may have a defect. Also regarding the battery dieing fast. Trust me. All phones' battery dies fast while on the analog system. I have had experience with many phones. Thats something that you would have to bite the bullet. But I would recommend that you buy a car charger and another battery -- try one of the extended bat...

I would also reccomend that you buy an extra battery for your phone, that way you can always have a fresh battery. I actually have two spare batteries for my phone, that way I am never without a charged one.

Thanks for your replies. I guess no one else has this problem. Or no one else uses the Kyocera 2235 mostly in analog. I have had 2 of these (replaced for the screen issue that everyone has had with this phone) and they both did it. I even replaced the battery thinking that the charger couldn't charge an old battery fast enough for the analog usage. But, alas, even with a brand new battery, this phone dies on a 4-5 min. analog call WHILE PLUGGED IN. I don't really care if this happens when I'm not plugged in ( I do have a car charger....etc. like you suggested) but it seems like a major design flaw for this phone not to just go ahead and us good ole AC for juice when I'm trying to call someone.........so at least I am glad to hear that...
