PC Remote options?
I just discovered how to use PC remote via bluetooth for controlling power point, media player, and even the mouse. It's friggin' sweet, but I was wondering if anybody knew how to get keyboard entry through the application? Is there any way to customize the bluetooth PC remote interface?

OK I went through the setup process and it paired fine, Phone even says it's connected, but when I start MPT it just says Initializing and won't read anything from the phone. Anyone with a similar problem finally get it to work?

Well, I'm amazed at how many times the same question has been asked...and asked...and asked...
When I got my phone, I spent the first couple days familiarizing myself with all the menu screens and option settings. If I didn't understand something, then I looked at the manual. If I still didn't get something, THEN I asked on this forum.

Yes, the alarms setting for ring style refers only to calendar alarms, not the "Alarm Clock".
You set the type of sound for alarm clock. There is no option in the datebook (calendar).

1. I got my first phone from VZW, signed up for ne2.
2. It's 2 years later, but instead of using my ne2 credit at VZW, I got the V710 at RS without it.
3. Is my ne2 (offered by VZW ONLY) still good 6 months from now, Since I didn't get it using my offer through VZW?

When you change the volume while the phone is open, it changes the ringer volume for your current style. That way, you can save all your other settings and just tweak the volume "on the fly" if you walk into a loud or quiet place. :wink:
I think it's rather convenient, but if it's so easy to do, I don't see a need for the soft setting, unless you want different rings.

Does buying the V710 @ RS void my NE2?
I was eligible to receive my ne2 credit, but decided to get the phone early @ RS. As I understand it, it only applies if you buy from VZW. Does that mean I can still use my ne2 credit, say in 5 or 6 mos on a better phone? Or do I have to wait 2 yrs from now?

Setup Your Phonebook
All you have to do is sort your phone book differently. While in your phonebook, press the menu key, scroll down to the last option: setup
If you sort by name and select view by primary, it lists each name once with the primary number, and you can switch to another number by pressing left and right, like other phones.

Just to quell all the rumors, can anyone confirm that the firmware is the same as RS phones?
Go to menu > Phone Info > Other Info > S/W Version.

My LG did the same ever since I got it over 2 yrs ago. I think verizon programs it into their phones. It's convenient when you're on the ext network or roaming, but I wish it would stay on the banner when you're on the reg VZW network. :?

This is the first moto I've had since the startac, but I can say I did notice the lag in the software. From the time you press a command on the screen, there's almost a full second delay for it to move sometimes. And when you're scrolling through pictures too fast, the phone just freezes and resets.

The way I understand it, yes you have 30 days to return/refund any PRODUCT at RS, but in order to cancel any changes made to your CONTRACT with VZW, or to cancel your contract if you're a new VZW customer, you must go back within 15 days.
For example, if I want to take advantage of my ne2 eligibility, I would have to return the phone w/in 15 days at RS and then I would be re-eligible for ne2 at ...
Still nothing from Amazon
I ordered from Amazon, Buy.com, and Chumbo on 8/4. Chumbo order is tracking and should be here today. Amazon still says Oct, Buy.com still says sent to whse. I think location has something to do with it. I'm in TX. I know NY people get it pretty quick.

I thought I had some too, but I cleaned the lens with a soft q-tip and all was well again. At first, it just moved the dust around, but just breathe a little warm air on the lens and then swab it. The moisture helps the dust cling to the cotton. Maybe it's just a stubborn dust particle on the outside.

Well, of the 3 orders I placed (Amazon, Buy, Chumbo) for a TF card on Aug 4, I checked today and Chumbo has already shipped. Buy says sent to warehouse and Amazon says expected date Oct.
Looks like Chumbo's gonna win this one.

Well I've placed an order with Amazon, Buy.com, and Chumbo. All on Aug 4th.
Buy and Chumbo still say sent to warehouse. Amazon still says not released - estimated October.
I'm hoping I get one in and I can cancel the others. If not I should have a couple to sell. We'll see which one gets here first. :?

Anyone else's phone randomly restart?
This is kinda weird.
It's happened about 3 times since I've had the phone. I'm in the recent calls list or the phonebook and the screen shuts off for about 1 sec than comes back frozen for 1 second then asks me for my lock code when it finally comes back. I turned off the autolock so I won't have to do that but I still want to know why it crashes.

Yes, I did the same. Most screens on the V710 are customizable. You just have to play around with each screen. That's one of the things I like about it - every phone can be a little different according to your preference.
Yet another reason I'm happy with my purchase. :D

I got the phone, love it, look forward to updates, be nice if I got the free headset, but I'm not gonna cry about it. RS buyers took the risk of getting a higher price and an inferior phone. All that's gonna be fixed soon enough. I'm happy with my decision to get it early.
