Well like many of you i just received this phone after months of waiting and my first impressions were "wow" ear piece volume is not as bad as everyone says.. the screen is better than the vx7000 (in my opinion) and has WAY more features.. menu i got used to fairly quick also.. but the phonebook.. ARE YOU KIDDING ME.. 1 entry per number? thats like 5 year old nokia technology and even my old ass 8290 or whatever could hold 2 numbers per name.. this is rediculous

Mine holds more then one number per name. You have to scroll down and click on MORE. Then it allows you to add another number to the name.

I think when Verizon transfers the old numbers at the store from your old phone it tranlates all numbers seperatly.

Yea the vx700 held like 5 numbers per name.. along with 2 email addresses etc etc.. with the moto even going to "more" and adding another number to the name in the phone book the name still shows up twice.. if anyone knows a way around this please let me know because it is highly annoying.. other than that i love the phone

All you have to do is sort your phone book differently. While in your phonebook, press the menu key, scroll down to the last option: setup

If you sort by name and select view by primary, it lists each name once with the primary number, and you can switch to another number by pressing left and right, like other phones.

I tried setting up additional numbers per name and it can be done. So far I have assigned 4 numbers to one name. Simply enter the new number at the main screen, enter the same contact name, assign a different icon under Type, save, and you have it! Just sort your contacts like djollie111 said to avoid having the name appearing 4 times.

Anybody have an idea about how the multiple numbers per contact are handled when they are transfered into a system that handles only one number per contact as in a car phonebook.

it all depends on how u set ur phonebook..if u want to see only general, then u set it to general, if u want to see those under personal, u select it as personal, if u want to see those under vip, u select it as vip and the last other option is all...there is no multiple numbers per contact as some have mentioned...
