If you hated the way the Promo was handled. Do something about it

If you hated the way Motorola handled the v710 Promotion. Do something about it. But what ever you do stop bitching here.

Call, write, email Motorola and let them know how you feel. If you fail to get satisfaction. Return the phone for another manufactures model and let MOtorola know that you will no longer use there products.

If you are dissatisfied with the way you were treaded at Radio Shack do the same thing. Radio Shack is not the only third party Verizon dealer.

If you are not happy with Verizon. Go to another carrier.

But the important thing to remember is to take some action. Stand up for your selfs and let the company know that you were dissatisfied. Oh and stop posting nothing but bitchy remarks about Verizon, Radio...

Amen to that brother. Do yourself a favor and do what I do when I see the word "FREE". Tell yourself you ain't gettin' it. So when you get it you're surprised and happy instead of sayin' " it's about time that showed up!". And as far as buying it at RS. Why would you buy anything more then RCA cables at Radio Shack ? IT'S RADIO SHACK FOR CRYIN" OUT LOUD !

I got the phone, love it, look forward to updates, be nice if I got the free headset, but I'm not gonna cry about it. RS buyers took the risk of getting a higher price and an inferior phone. All that's gonna be fixed soon enough. I'm happy with my decision to get it early.

As for the comment about RS, well here's just some trivia in response to that:

Yes I agree, I'm going to take some action. Most of us that are annoyed don't feel that we were entitled to a free headset, we felt that everybody should have had a fair opportunity at the promotion and that wasn't the case. It basically ended up being for people who were lucky enough to get one of the few V710s that were available at Radio Shack.

For the record, I've already spoken to a marketing rep at Motorola but that turned out to be a waste of time since all he did was send me the image file from Motorola email notification and another image file from their web site in an attempt to justify why they put up the registration page yesterday. I'm going to make another call today. I don't expect anything out of this but hopefully the...

It's a contest about luck... If you weren't lucky enough to be in the first 710 to get the phone, you weren't lucky enough to be in the first 710 to get the phone. I'm sorry but that's the way promos work. Did anyone stop you from buying the phone at Radio Shack or were they just sold out by the time you called?

Nobody stopped me from buying it there but it was sold out by the time I got there just like a lot of other people. Some of us have jobs that prevent us from running out to a store as soon as they get it in stock or camping out there waiting for the delivery truck to arrive.

You guys keep missing the point. Of course there's luck involved (i.e. you have to be one of hte first 710) but most of us didn't even get a shot at it. All of us just wanted a legitimate chance at it. And I'll say this point again. According to Motorola, the promotion wasn't supposed to start until the phone was officially released (i.e. sometime after August 11th). Verizon is the service provider and they set August 11th as the release date. Without Verizon...

I guess your idea of a level playing field is for all contest to start after 6pm when everyone gets off work

August 11th is the date that Verizon is getting the phone. The website says Register your new phone. It does not say anything about the contest starting the 11th. Or this being a cross promotion between Verizon and Motorola. It says nothing exspect register your phone. And if you are one of the first 710 win a bluetooth headset.

Sam K you are upset enough to call and you didn't get satisfaction. What wil...

According to Motorola, the phone was officially released. If Verizon stores are still holding them back, then yell at the Verizon stores for ruining the competition for you. Radio Shack did us a favor by releasing the phone a few weeks early (both retailer and consumer benefit), and Motorola realized that probably about 710 people already have their phones, so they launched the promo. The point is to reward people who bought them first, if you don't have it first then why should you be eligible for the prize? And why should us 710 who got lucky NOT be eligible for our prize?

I agree. Even if all stores waited til the 11th, there would still be complaints that people on the east coast were able ...
