USB SD Card Reader for $2 at Office Max
PS- Instead of using another post, I need to double-check (this is something to pay attention to if you go there yourself). They have a few different types of memory card readers going on the same sale. They told me the one that reads Compact Flash cards is the one I was looking for. Is that correct? They had a few other types (ones that read memory sticks, different sized memory cards, etc...).

Not bad.
This is a USB 1.1 reader/writer. They have USB 2.0 readers/writers available. I am not sure if they have it at Office Max. Quick search yielded about $18.00 for the USB 2.0.
USB 1.1 - 12 Mbits/sec = 1.5 MB/sec
USB 2.0 - 480 Mbits/sec = 60 MB/sec
So to transfer the WHOLE contents of the 128 MB card would take
USB 1.1 85.53 seconds
USB 2.0 2.13 seconds
Can someone (who is interested) check my math.
I searched, but could not find if TransFlash might limit this transfer rate.
i got a pny usb 2.0 reader from best buy for $15 less $10 rebate - however that was last week and the rebate expired and best buy raised there price $5 - it will probably go on sale again and the rebate will probably be renewed but dont know when

You're a douchebag.
Now, why the hell would you say that? I was trying to help you. At the store they told you "the one that reads Compact Flash cards is the one I was looking for. Is that correct?" I was trying to tell you they were wrong, you needed the one that reads SD cards. Oh well... Try to help a guy and he calls you a douchebag...
(I already got the $10 rebate form off the website)
