I don;t know if this has been posted before (sorry if it has...) but the "Live Update" is now updating to version 3.11

My live update only has up to 2.21f; how are you getting the choice for 3.11 and do you know if there's a site to manually download the update? Ironically, 2.21f doesn't work on my computer, only 2.21b. Also, has anyone been having problems with having MPT, the v710, and WinFAX installed? I installed WinFAX over the weekend and it caused MPT to no longer recognize the v710. Uninstalled WinFAX, and it works perfectly now.

I just went setup - Live Update, and it went through the update process. When it was done, it said I had 3.11. When it started again, it gave me the choice of connecting via Bluetooth, but when I went through the process, it didn't work.

All should note that despite promises made earlier by Moto support that 3.11 does NOT work properly with Outlook 2003. The program just quits and disappears when you try to set up the sync. It finds the phone just fine and you can use it as a modem, but that's usually not of much use.

Must be an operator error. Works fine with my hardware.

OK I went through the setup process and it paired fine, Phone even says it's connected, but when I start MPT it just says Initializing and won't read anything from the phone. Anyone with a similar problem finally get it to work?

Any Help?

if you call Moto, they will tell you that 3.11 is not ready for the v710 yet and will have you install 2.0.

Will MPT 2.0 work for bluetooth? I thought it didn't. 😕

2.0 when updated thru "live update" to 2.21f pairs with v710 nicely (assuming you have the drivers). I cannot speak authoritatively about laptop pairing for use as a modem (have not done that, no laptop at present) but I can tell you that many over in HoFo have posted success - as a modem, not BT file transfers. You might want to go do a search in howardforums.com and limit the search to the "temproary v710 discussion" under Verizon forum. You will find many discussions on this subject and links to drivers along with step by step instructions for just about everything. You might also check out the "official v710 FAQ" thread in that same "temp v710 disc..." forum. That thread has "how to" everything.

I was advised by Motorola that MPT is not compatible with XP SP2... The girl further went on to say that since XP SP2 is not widely used, that Motorola and MPT at present doesn't have plans to support it... When I said all new systems ship with XP SP2 and it is part of windows update, the reply was MPT doesn't support it...

Not sure if this is your problem though... It is mine, and I have been fighting it since August...

Have you looked this up in HoFo? I KNOW there are people over there that have sp2 and MPT and get the two to work together. I know there are some issues and I have been postponing the sp2 download while I monitor this issue and await a possible update to MPT.

I am using 2.21f and xp with sp1. If you have a new comp w/sp2 - I suggest you go search on HoFo.

So has anyone figured out what is new in 3.11? Or has anyone found any release notes?
