Thanks! I'm not sure at this junction what I'm going to do. I know I'll enjoy having a little time off (such as it is, I did just go back to school), but I'm hoping to find something that pays at least as well. I can't say that I would be objected to moving to another company/carrier, but I'd like to move on from phones entirely if possible. I had something I loved a few years ago, ...

I used to be with an agent that I can at least say was honest. But the problem with makin an honest buck is that the margins are too low and they ultimately sold to this company. Thanks for your compliments, and I doubt that I'll stop coming to the forums...I just won't be participating as a member of the sales community any longer.

And I was liking the looks of these two phones too! I HATE stub antennas and extendables are even worse. There's GOTTA be a way to make these things compatible with HAC without uglyin 'em up like that. The RAZR has an M3 rating and no external antenna, why not these? I used to like it. But really upper management is so insufferable in my case that I can't take pleasure in the little things anymore. And after the last slap in the face that I've been dealt I honestly think I'd rather be jobless than deal with them everyday. I'm glad you've got a good working environment, but mine sucks and I'm headin out.

I am both proud and extremely pissed to announce that the countdown has begun! I have 5 days until I'm free of the burden of selling phones. 5 more days of this utter crap and then....well....I don't know what I'm gonna do, but I'm sure I'll find something. After the way management's pissed on me scrapin sh!t off the sidewalk would beat staying here at this point. Let the countdown begin! 8) :evil:

This doesn't just happen at VZW stores though...I get it at my Cing. exclusive agent location too....ALL THE TIME. The thing is that not all companies will even do this at their COR locations. While, again I say, it's not unreasonable, it shouldn't be expected either.

No such wand exists darling. I do on the other hand have a VERY handy magic BULLET. Course it HAS to be fired from the barrel of a 44 Magnum and will most likely be followed by several not-so-magic bullets, but eh. :wink: 8)

Lovely. Luckily I didn't actually have a bad day. In 4 hours I moved 3 upgrades (acts would have been better, but eh, it's Sunday) one of which was a PDA. And was told I should get a promotion at least 3 times by each customer. All in all I can't complain. Which of course can mean only one thing.....Tuesday's gonna SUCK!!! (got tomorrow off) :(

If customers want their purchases billed on thier accounts each carrier runs a website and a telesales dept. Sure they won't get their phone right away, but that's the trade off. Either get it now and pay now, or get it later and pay later. I can't say it's an unreasonable request to want something billed instead of paying immediately. Here's the thing though, unless the carrier themselves own the store, which they don't in most cases, ...

Damn! At least my customers ask me nicely (most of the time). I've got a woman coming in to buy a BlackBerry at retail price cause she just lost her HTC Wizard that she's had for less tham two weeks. Watch her find it on like day 35 and want to return one of them. :roll:

You didn't upset me...Cingular did! I had a customer with an offer for 2 $50 phones for free from the .com and I can't match and neither can customer service. It's stupid. As for the Big Mac...it was just an example, I didn't mean for everyone to take it so literally. :paranoid:

First of all allow me to append my statements in 2 ways: 1. Double Cheeseburger replaces Big Mac in the original statement. 2. All these are points of corporate contact for CINGULAR Wireless. Indirects setting their own prices will happen as long as there are indirects. And I KNOW that the net is cheaper, but if carriers are hemorraging cash by giving subsidies then why not be consistent? How about they stop giving away OUTRAGEOUS subsidies online and make pricing consistent with what is found in stores?!?!?! No, really, I'm serious....if the z520's free online and $119.99 in store that's $120 down the tube + FREE SHIPPING!!! Essentially, no, there's not a way to really put a definite price on a minute of use (that I know of). What they CAN do however is take the cost of operating that tower for one month (28 day period) and divide it by the amount of mins. in a month, then compare that to how many calls the tower can hold at one time. That being said let's assume, for the sake of round numbers, a tower costs ...

I'd like to, at this time, point out my complete frustration with the lack of consistency in the pricing schemes of wireless carriers. At any given time you can check 3 different sources: Retail stores, company websites, and Customer Care; and find 3 different prices. What's free on the website is $50 in store, and $70 thru Customer Care. And no one can match each other! CAN WE GET SOME FREAKIN CONSISTENCY PEOPLE?!?!?! I mean almost all McDonald's ...

I can't see any way Cingular can be sued for this. Though it is standard business practice for carriers to offer upgrades to thier customers who are either out of, or almost out of their contracts, there's nothing that states anywhere that they will offer their customers such deals in order to retain thier business. I'm by no means defending this policy as it costs me sales, but it is true that people who use thousands of these minutes ...

And I've had POP material from Cingy displaying the V3i in my store for months. Ads and POP don't mean a thing until the launch date. I don't know if you'd remember, but the Moto a630 had a few print ads from Cingular too....it never launched! If they're truly testing the Canary/K1 then you can bet your sweet @$$ that the V3i will happily be passed right over. The iTunes + Cingular campaign hasn't exactly been the ...

Ok...I have to ask: What's so bad about paying a processing fee to your cell phone carrier? That's really what the "Upgrade Fee" is, it's a paperwork and processing fee! And yet everyone complains about it(unless, like in my store, you call it what it is). It boggles my mind why people would b*tch about an $18 upgrade processing fee, but not say anything about "Lender Fees" when they buy a car or a house!!! These are WAY higher than ...
