the speech to end all speeches
Anyways, I would just like to say that CELL PHONES ARE A LUXURY, NOT AN ENTITLEMENT!!!!
You aren't "entitled" to have a cell phone and service, you have to pay for it...you dont have the "right" to have one, you have the "option" of having one.
If you are the kind of person that "needs" a cell phone, then I really don't see why paying $18 dollars extra everytime you renew an aggreement is a big deal? If you "need" a phone but dont want to sign a contract there are plenty of options.
Cingular, LIKE ANY OTHER PUBLICLY SHARED COMPANY IN THE WORLD, is there to amake profit for it's s...

I think the question about the $18 was that when the merger took place Cingular forced people to pay that money even though it is the same company. (ATTWS and Cingular) I think that is why people are upset. The latest lawsuit obviously proves that.
FYI, Cingular and other companies usually give phones away. (A subsidy)
Not trying to be argumentative with you, I just get sort of annoyed when ATT customers complain that they were charged to migrate, but lets not even open that whole can of worms 😁
Well, there is a lawsuit about that ATTWS customers were forced to pay that fee and the new equipment to be on the Cingular’s GSM network. Why not complain? That is what consumers do. Oh yea, and they like to sue too and they are very naïve. Lol.

What's so bad about paying a processing fee to your cell phone carrier?
That's really what the "Upgrade Fee" is, it's a paperwork and processing fee! And yet everyone complains about it(unless, like in my store, you call it what it is).
It boggles my mind why people would b*tch about an $18 upgrade processing fee, but not say anything about "Lender Fees" when they buy a car or a house!!! These are WAY higher than anything your carrier will charge you and are involved in something FAR more important...your home or means of transport to work. The whole reason I'm borrowing the money is because I don't have it....why pay more? (of course I know people have to be paid to work and there are legal hoops to jump thr...

2.The "processing" fee is just to generate revenue its not like it costs $18 to click a button and extend someone's contract.
3.The biggest BS is mortgage insurance. It doesn't even insure anything!
2. Actually, maintaining the system upon which that button resides does cost money. If you've ever dealt with POS.com you know how much work it needs on an extremely regular basis. And since Cingy's apparently losing SO much money on its customers that it has to deny them upgrades the funds have to come from somewhere. 🙄
3. I agree...mortgage insurance IS B.S.!
I'm just pointing out the irony that we pay for years for something called LIFE insurance and it only pays off in the event of our DEATH. Therefore in a perfect world it should be known as Death Insurance.
I guess it's just too much of a mouthful to say "I need a Family Protection In The Event of My Death Policy". 🙂
