Captain.....

Dec 13, 2005 by wabmorgan

Captain... I believe we have arrived at the later half of the twentieth century.

In this case... it is not a compliment!!!!!

We have a form factor that fits in 23rd century but the internal workings of a phone built 2.5 years ago!!!!!!!! No trans-slot..... my god.... how fast we run out of memory on this phone.

And VZW.... QUIT messing up the phones!!!! You may have left OBEX in this time but you gave an GUI that absolutely SUCKS!!!!! It is horrible!!!!!!!!

I'm probably actually going to return the phone. What a disappointment!!!!!!! And I think that when I do..... I am taking my business to another carrier!!! One with better phones, and one that doesn't screw the phones up just so they can make some more $$$$$$$$$$$$ One that will let me use the phone the way the manufacturer built it to be used!!!!!

Phenomenal Phone!

I could not be happier with this phone. It gets great reception in my house where I never got reception before. It does full bluetooth isync on a mac, OBEX is enabled so you can you send pix and ringtones to the phone from your computer (yes, even on Verizon), and the voice recognition is beyond belief. I have a bluetooth carkit (the Nokia CARK 112) and you merely push the button and speak either a name or a number and it dials flawlessly. I don't use my phone for music so I could care less about the lack of transflash card. In short, highly recommended.

Allmost everything I wanted in a phone

First off I've been waiting a long time for this phone, and I worried that when I got it I would be disappointed. I was not. This is a great phone.

Pros: Small, made of metal not plastic, nice large screen, great reception, clear sound, speaker phone works well, OBEX works with no mods, and lets face it, it’s the best looking phone on the market!

Cons: No flash card slot, no AMPS support. The Verizon UI is not as bad as I first thought it would be. Still wish that I could have my choice between the standard Moto and Verizions UI. These are the only cons for me. I know others will say that the camera should be 2mega pixels and that it dose not have a mp3 player but to me this is not important.

All in all it’s a great phone for people that want a small slick looking high end phone that can get the job done!

RAZOR VERIZON

Dec 13, 2005 by nickyscoops

Hey guys. I'm new this this forum but was dying to give some in put on the new Razor. Picked mine up Saturday and just returned it tonight for another try with a new one. Battery life is not bad but poor. They tell me I may have got a lemon???? Giving it the 15 day trial and then I'm done with this phone. No matter how cool and sleek it is.Good luck to everyone else. If your a talker your gonna need it.

My thoughts ........

Well, first off, I want to respond to Davegreen96 - It doesn't even sound like he has the v3c, rather he would bring the ratings down because he doesn't like Motorola - hardly a fair assessment in my opinion.

I have the v3c from Verizon (also had the Alltel version). I like the new standard VZW interface, less to mess with and easier for most folks to switch from phone to phone without having to learn each one.

The v3c Razr has been very good with actual reception in the Seattle and Bellevue (WA) areas, in addition to the Greater Los Angeles and Orange County (CA) areas. Call quality is very good, as are ring volume, call volume, and strength of the vibrate function.

I also like that you can add photos & ringtones with your computer, using Mobile Phone Tools (version 3.28). Finally, Verizon has apparently seen the light and not completely locked down the phones features, something that definitely scores points with me!

The areas which keep the v3c from getting a "5" are:

- Battery life is only "OK"
- No ring & vibrate at the same time.

I wanted this phone for the slim form factor and internal antenna. I'm willing to accept whatever small shortcomings may surface because I wanted this phone.

Razor NO WAY

I have been shopping for a new 2 yr upgrade and done my homework . I went to verizon and tried this phone out . First of all your forced to use Bluetooth since there is no jack to use headset on this phone. Second more nicer phones your able to play mp3s on them and this phone doesn't allow that feature at all. No memory slot at all .
I read these review and for all the hype of this phone it was very disappointing that all it does is look good.
If I wanted a shallow phone I would go back years since motorola makes the worst phones on the market.
Talk to anyone , more motorola phones come back for problems then any other phone on the market .
I decided to go with the LG 8100 it's an amazing phone .
Reading around Motorola doesn't do much to fix phones, when there is issues.
So all you people out there, your phone breaks good luck on a fix.
Don't know about the rest of you but I want good coverage , and good solid backing of a product. Going from a LG 6000 to the 8100, much better choice than this RazR. The only thing good about the Razr that it's thin , so what, if it breaks , due to dropping , what good is it ?
Now that this is finally out , buyer beware on this one. Not a wise choice if you expect this phone to last 2 yrs.

freedom, finally!!

Love the phone and love the freedom Alltel gives to use OBEX file transfer via bluetooth. EvDO is blazing fast for browsing with your Mac. Haven't tried the TV service yet..

COMPLAINT! The side buttons are easy to inadvertently hit when you're handling the phone which may accidentally turn your phone to vibrate or silent if you're not careful. I enabled security on tones and that seems to help.

This phone is excellent

This phone is very sleek and stylish... along with that it has the best clarity in a call that I have ever experienced. The ringers are crisp... the features are excellent... It's breath of fresh air after having the 8900 for 2 years!

Satisfactory

I have owned this phone for the past 2 days. The looks are great, the background light makes the buttons irresistable.
Pros:
Excellent looks, speakerphone is great, sound on ear piece also great. Navigation menu is different, but it is just as practical as the menu from E815 once you get used to it.

Cons:
Questionable reception. Bars are low indoors (1-2). The phone is overpriced.

Overall, I recommend this phone for anyone looking for the looks and style. Buy this phone and add a bodyglove cell suit to it, people will turn heads.

I'll keep this phone even if reception is questionable. I also had reception issues with my E815. To my experience, Motorola phones have always struggled with reception indoors so going back to my E815 would not do me much good.

Great phone! Buy it!

??? & Review

Does this phone have a way to brighten the screen and leave the key and screen light on while you are on the phone or if it is opened? Is there a way to change the front display and font size so you can read it?

How do you check your pop3 email with this phone. Cant seem to down load a soda pop type email program. Will this phone work with a mobile office kit or will it work with national access with your laptop?
After Verizon transfered the contact list from my 6100 to the razor the speed dial location numbers were all changed. What option is there to change them?

Is there a way to use the bluetooth to connect your laptop to the web?

lost several calls on Scottsdale Rd.
It is all digital.

The phone is thin though and has good ear volume.
