The sound on the phone when someone calls you can't hear sometimes. you only can hear when you call them. you can hear sometimes.

This phone is absolutely awful. I have gone through 5 of these phones in the past 8 months and this phone is the worst phone I have ever had.

-Good inner display
-Outer display is good in sunlight

-Those outside buttons are a pain in the rear, they could be pressed so easily.
-The call quality is awful, I have so many people complaining they cannot hear me with this phone
-Phone drops calls often
-Issues with data services such as mobile web, get it now and PIX messaging that have caused my phone to be replaced twice.
-The biggest one is the battery life is awful. I go to sleep and the battery is on 3 bars, when I wake up the next morning the phone will not even turn on cause the battery is DEAD.

This is basically a lousy phone and I can not wait until the Motorola E815 is released.

Steer clear of this one!

not the phone for me!

I have had many, many, many phones for only being 14 years old, I have had a NOKIA 3395, Motorola T720, Sony Ericsson T616, LG VX6000, Audiovox 9900, and the LG 6100. The LG 6100 is the worst phone I have personally ever owned, First of all what were they thinking on putting so many side buttons on the phone you cant even take it to school on silent because it will turn off, specially for those like me with tighter pants. Second of all the camera slider is the stupidest idea I have ever heard of, 3rd, the camera sucks as well as the speaker phone, the overall appearance is cheap, the external monochrome is pointless. My main question to LG is why did you even make a LG VX6100 it is exactly the same as the VX6000, and a little worse. I had to take it back to Verizon for a speaker glitch which is common for cheaply made phone's such as this one.

Camera is nice
Speaker is okay

Flash on camera isn't good at all
Monochrome external display
Speaker-phone is hard to hear
Battery life sucks
side buttons

This is my 5th phone from verizon...and its right up there with the samsung A670 I had...I would have kept the 670...but it wasnt tri mode, and around here it helps...but this phone is a perfect combo of fun and practical...I have yet to notice the volume bug or anything like that...infact I havent really noticed any problems truthfully, but i have only had it for 3 days...if I see problems i'll post it. Overall im quite impressed though with the reception and call clarity

this phone is perfect

I will start off by saying that I have had this phone for 2 weeks and i apsolutely love it (in another review somebody said after 2 weeks you would hate it- not true) I guess depending upon where you live the reception would be different but I haven't had too many trouble with it so far- plus im sure if you're call was dropped you would certainly be able to remember what you were talking about within the next 2 minutes of calling them back. The phone looks great and has a terrific camera with zoom- this phone is an overall great phone- hope this helps !!

VX-6100 is The Bomb

Jan 9, 2005 by Angeli

Purchased the 6100 in Oct. '04 and absolutely love it. Now, each of my friends has one and none of us would trade it for anything else. Verizon has done it right and for the $$ you can't beat it.
Battery life, call clarity, phone book, reception, camera, ease of use, buttons, wallpaper.
Ring tone variety.

LG VX6100 Voice Recognition Software

Dec 17, 2004 by jsmooy

This phone has many great features. But the worst feature which drags down any rating I give the phone is the Voice Recognition. It has a digital male voice that refuses to understand simple words. If I say Mary (the name I'm calling) it asks me "did I say Honda" and that in a most hideous barely understood voice. This feature alone cripples the phone for me. I use voice activated dialing 99% of the time and it's a useless feature for me on this phone. I hear all the new phones now have it. If so, I'm going back to my old Voice Recog phone tho its 2 yrs old.

great phone

Drops Calls

Dec 1, 2004 by local

I need a phone that can do the basics well -- I want good battery life, good signal, convenient programming. This phone cannot provide the basics. It frequently drops calls, even in areas with good signal strength. Even if it were perfect in every other way, call-dropping makes the VX-6100 a non-starter. I have some other gripes, but why go on?

This phone has great features, but i assure you that the "volume bug" that many other people speak of is real and annoying. Everything else about the phone is great however, its not worth the hassle of being unable to use the most important function of the phone; "talking" on it. Furthermore Verizon has no comment on the problem. The customer service dept said they will forward it on to their tech people to investigate. They also say they look at this website, which can't be true considering that they had no knowlegde of the "volume bug".
