LG enV VX-9900

I am trying to decide between this pkone and the Samsung A990?Any input?

Is there any possible way to order this on-line without the 2 year contract? I thought there might be some to do this but I can't seem to find out how. I'm trying this on Verizon's website. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is there any way to make the sounds in the My Sounds folder a ringtone>? I would like to know how to do it!

Is there a way have the phone automatically lock after a certain time period?

i want to get a micro sd card for this phone, but i dont really know anything about them, and this might sound stupid, but could someone please tell me if this card would work with this phone, i really hope it does because it looks like this is the cheapest price around, thanks.

I plugged my SD card into my computer via SD-to-USB adapter, and added a bunch of pictures, songs...etc.

Everything works great, except for the fact that none of the audio I added shows up in my list of ring tones. How do I add these songs (midi, mp3, wma...etc) to the ringtone list, so I can use them?

I can't seem to navigate the cursor in the mobile web email. When going to the address book, arrows do not move the cursor for me to search my contact list.
Anyone else have this problem or a solution? Thanks

whenever i use the camcorder it seems smooth with an occasional choppy second. does anyone else experience this? also I have read a lot about how it wont let you text 2mp pictures but after looking and looking, i have yet to see an option for changing the megapixel use. can anyone help me with this?

how come when I transfer my music my microSD card...some of the songs won't load in the music player...and does this phone has a equalizer? thanks

I recently got a chocolate for my upgrade about 1 month ago and I can't stand it. I liked it for a couple weeks and then it got a crap load of scratches on it and randomly calls people, with a bunch of other problems to. I was wondering how much it would be to buy this phone and switch my service over right now after only a month with the chocolate.

I ordered the phone and can't wait to get it... meanwhile, I wanted to ask those who have it few last questions:

1. Is the charger the same as vx8100/vx8300... can something be cut off from the plug, to fit it in 9900 or it's totally different socket?

2. In bitpim, can you use some other phone's settings to manipulate 9900? or do you have to go through filesystem to upload evertying manually?

just as an FYI I read a lot of people saying how the two black pieces by the inner screen scratch easily. Well turns out both the pieces have a sticker on them and once they are off it is just 2 glossy black pieces.

Ok.. now that I have my ringers the back.. how do i put my songs into a playlist.. for the mp3 option?????

I just got my MicroSD card and have added a few songs to the card (just drag and drop)


I havnt figured out how to create playlists yet.

Has anyone used Verizon's Music Essentials Kit software. How useful is it?

Also, What's the best way to sort/create playlists w/ this phone?

is it better if I convert to WMA format?

Hi. I had a quick question. I plan to get this phone within the next 2 weeks and my 2-year contract isn't up yet, did any of you get this phone before your 2-year contract is up? Did you have to pay extra for the phone or pay any fees? Thanks for your help.

So some of you might have had the issues that I had with my new and shiny 9900 which is the lack of changing the homepage on the wap browser.

So since my data cable arrived today I figured I'd do something about it.

So I have the drivers installed for the phone (from howardforums, search for link) and I use the recent version of bitpim with the vx8500 settings.

So do a backup of your system or you can just pull this one file if you like (I did a full backup cause I'm paranoid).

Now using some hex editor (I use UltraEdit) open the file (after making a backup of course) and you will see the "http://homepage" in there twice. WITHOUT changing the size of the file, just over write what is there with the url of...

I owned the V, but purchased the enV today. I didn't have a problem using my mp3's as ringtones with the V and bitpim. But with the new enV, it won't work.

someone please help me. I need a step by step method using bitpim for the new enV. I dont have a USB cable for the phone, so i'm praying someone can help me through bluetooth. Thanks

Does anyone else think that the ringtone volume is very low for this phone? I am sending the ringtones through my email to the phone and they sound pretty low. I think they are coming out of the 2 inside speakers and that is why they sound so low and distorted. It sounds like you are holding your hand over the speaker or something. Does anyone know a way to get better sounding ringtones for free or know how to make the ones I have sound better and louder. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.

I have read many reviews about this with varying quotes of Battery Life. Could someone give me an idea how good the battery life is. One reviewing says that with Bluetooth he gets les than 2 days of Battery Life.
