mobile web 2.0 question/concern

Hello all,

I have a question about the mobile web / browser on the newer verizon phone, such as the LOG 8300. I am interested in upgrading my older LG phone to possilby the new 8300 but I have an issue with the way the the mobile web now works. I hope I can explain this correctly -

I currently use the mobile web browser (an older version, not sure which one) on my older LG 6600 phone a considerable amount of time, but mainly for two purposes - check my pop email and check sport scores. Since minutes count, I try to best as fast and efficient as possible. With the older version, it was very easy to do this because when you exit or disconnect from the web, it remembers the page you were last at. So to check my email, I go to the screen w...

Micro SD Trans Flash @ Fry's 1GB $25.00 AR

If this is the type the 8300 uses it is quite a deal. I have bought numerous computer related items at Fry's. Buy with confidence.

No Flames accepted, i am only sharing a possible deal.

go from 8100 to 8300?

hi, i was wondering how you are able to switch from the 8100 to the 8300 if you have already had your 8100 6months. people on here seem to be switching phones all of the time- how do you go about doing that without paying full retail.. what you are not eligible for an upgrade?
thanks- ja

Got my second 8300

Returned my first, which I bought online, on Monday. Bought my second last night at the local Verizon store. I returned the first because people said I sounded muffled and at times garbled. Now they say I sound crystal clear. So don't believe people who say every phone is exactly the same. Like any other piece of electronics they are all different.

Voice Recordable Ringtones

I currently have a Moto V325 and have added ringtones by recording them by holding the phone in front of the speaker while playing CDs on my CD player. I am not into having music on a computer and somehow sending it to the phone...that is too high tech for me. Is it possible to record music the way I have been doing and use it as ringtones?

Ringtones and bitpim

Ok so i'm hearing alot about e-mailing yourself ringers just like on the 8000 but i got the 8100 and the whole bitpim solution worked great for me, my question is, do you guys thinks bitpim will work (or will ever work in the future) for this phone, if so how long does it normally take for the bitpim programmers to pick up on new phones? Furthermore, if the bitpim option does turn out to work (either now or someother time) do you think my data cable from the 8100 will work on the 8300? And one more question i promise 🙂 In my 8100 there is space specifically for my sounds and for my ringers I cannot move files freely back and forth via the phone. For example i cannot save a sound i get in a multi media message as a ringer, does this chang...

My 8300 Observations so far

Ok while I was having the Rolls serviced, I stopped at the VZW store to play.
I ran the two 8300’s there through their paces.
I will refer to them as phone # 1 and phone # 2 in this un-official review.

Earpiece sound quality in phone #1 was in my estimation just as good as my RAZR and was able to go louder. I did notice that when the ambient noise in the store got louder, so did the earpiece volume.

Headset sound: I brought in my trusty Plantronics wired headset and plugged it in. Called my voice mail system and called my RAZR to record and playback a few test messages. Overall earpiece quality and volume was very good and I did not notice any tinniness or distortion with 8300 # 1.

Mouthpiece was excellent and called my vo...

Ringtone poor sound quality-possible solution!!!!!!

I experimented sending .mid and .wav ringtones and the .wav does not appear to lose any sound quality when e-mailed. Anybody else tried it?

Also, once you moved mp3 ringtones to the memory card and into the phone in the "my sounds" folder, you can e-mail it to yourself, from the phone, then save as a ringtone. Anybody tried this too?

Silencing Picture/Video Sounds

Is there any way to silence the chime heard when you start recording a video and when the recording ends. I believe there is also another chime when a picture is taken.

Thanks.

SD Card and Cable...

Do I have to buy the music essential kit to put songs, pics on my phone? Can I just get a USB cable from any store? Is there a special type? Also where is everyone getting their MicroSD cards from? Any places with good deals? Until then I'll have to put my music on the phone itself.

Appreciate your help as I figure this all out.

Thanks

How large of an attachment can be sent??

My daughter is going crazy not being able to use BitPim for ring tones. I opened up Bitpim on my laptop here at work and sent her a trimmed down clip as an email and it worked. How large of an attachment can I send her? I figure that I can bundle several clips together and only pay a one time fee.

Voice Privacy Bug

I noticed that if I turn off voice privacy it still stays on and then when I go back to the settings it still is shown as on. So it looks like another bug. Does voice privacy affect call quality or loudness or does the fact that I cannot turn this off not matter? Thank you!

Volume Bug

Has anyone had the "volume bug?
I have been desperately trying to get a phone with Blue tooth since the 8100 have come out but I had that volume bug with the 8100 and I even tried 3 of them with no luck. I have the 8000 and its great no problem with the volume fading in and out but need BT.
Thanks
