Volume Bug
QB11Jun 7, 2006, 10:35 PM
Has anyone had the "volume bug?
I have been desperately trying to get a phone with Blue tooth since the 8100 have come out but I had that volume bug with the 8100 and I even tried 3 of them with no luck. I have the 8000 and its great no problem with the volume fading in and out but need BT.
Thanks

Actually, I just experienced something like a volume bug. Just got a call, couldn't hear them very well, clicked up once on the side rocker, and it showed that it was all the way up. Then I clicked down, and the volume kicked in much louder.
Wow, I'm surprised with all of the previous volume issues, and the good QA of Verizon Wireless that they didn't catch this.

Yes, in my 3 day test of the phone I noticed volume problems as well as reception problems. It always amazes me too when QA fails to catch obvious shortcomings.

Yup I knew it, I went into the Verizon store this morning and tried out the display and got the same result. The other party fades out for a couple of seconds then comes back. I live in NY so you know that there are many towers. I think its the Blue Tooth technology that is causing this problem. Does anyone agree?
Thanks for the feed back

I think it is the attenuation circuitry that is supposed to do noise cancellation when the ambient noise is loud.
It silences the "sidetone and feedback" to the point of silence.
I would like someone to try it:
In a really quiet area
or
In a noisy area with the mic muted
or
Wearing a wired headset, not bluetooth
and then report the results.

It has been this way since the 6000 came out. It used to bug me to but i just marked it off as the way it is and went on with my day.

Hmm, I wonder if there is a way to turn off auto volumn? that solved the problem on my LG 6000.
